Q1 Why is air conditioning used? A1 Gopala Krishnan,Former AssistantGeneral Manager 1996-2004 at Department of Telecom (1966–2004) Just now I can give thefollowing requirements as answer to your question. In installations where dust free and below normaltemperature required air conditioning is done. The best example is telecominstallations. Hospital surgery rooms, delivery rooms etc. Air conditioning provides comfort temperature anddust free atmosphere either in offices, shops or homes. In places where normal temperature is above 24degrees or so, air condition prevents dust in sophisticated equipment. An air-conditioned atmosphere gives comfort tohumans . I write this answer from Chennai, now the temperature is 32 degree Cand I have set the air-conditioner to 22 degree C giving me comfort to workwith my Laptop on my table, and typing sitting on chair. I am 78 and aircondition gives me comfort to write answers in questions in Quora of these types with patience. Q2 Whichstate has best education system, Tamil Nadu or Kerala? A2 Kanthaswamy Balasubramaniam, Lawyer Sep3 Kerala Kerala follows the Median Model of China The Purpose ofKeralas System is to mould the Median Student and make him aware and capable The Purpose is notto focus entirely on the Top 10% or 15% Students and let the rest of the Studentsgenerally rot away. Subsequently - A Median Student from Kerala outstrips aMedian Student from TN hands down. Or from Karnatakaor from Andhra Pradesh. Subsequently theState as a whole evolves well even though theBrilliant Students or the IITians etc are fewer from Kerala than say AP / TG orTN. Tamilnadu TN Follows the Asis where is method TheMedian Student is primarily a Dullard who somehow Passes with a 35–40 markgrace. Many are so confident of getting seats due toreservation / payment of donations/surplus seats in C category colleges thatthey rarely study Of course TN cultivates the Brilliant Students and thismeans more IIT rankers and outliers Which System is Better-A COMBO OF BOTH Thats what Chinadoes The Median Studentsare allowed to Grow very well Yet the Outliersare isolated and trained in Special Schools and geared Faster so that they canachieve their potential IN the NormalSchools - 8th Graders do Linear Equations in 2 Variables In the AdvancedSchools - 8th Graders do Basic Trigonometry & Quadratic Equations &Geometric Progressions Q3 Isit true that Indian Railways is detaining other express trains for maintainingthe punctuality of the private Tejas Express train run by IRCTC? A3 Priyanshu Tiwari, NITAllahabad|Learner| Coder| Quizzer Updated 2y Short Answer- Yes Long Answer- Yesrailways will be detaining other trains for the tejas but it has nothing to dowith it being private and all as the government tejas that runs between Mumbaiand Goa also enjoys the same punctuality. It is because of a concept that the railways have beenfollowing since the introduction of The Rajdhani Express trains in 1969, theconcept of priority of trains. Priority of trainsis a concept in which all the running trains are allotted priorities for theutilization of tracks of the Indian railways. The trains with higher priorities have a higher ticketcost but also they enjoy almost punctual running. Here is the listof trains according to their priority in the Indian Railways network: The Rajdhani: This train is the pride of Indianrailways and is given the highest priority on Indian tracks it is even allowedto overtake trains which are moving before it. No train is ever allowed toovertake this train and the railways give these train a king status on anysection. The Shatabdi: This is the second highest prioritytrain. There is a short experience in my life which I had with this train andit quite amused me. So what happened was I was waiting for my train on CharbaghRailway station in Lucknow when suddenly a clamour started among the cleaningstaff of the platform, they hurriedly opened their hoses and started cleaningthe platform benches and even the tracks! When we asked what was thematter one of the men replied that the Swarn Shatabdi Express was arriving soon. This is the level of priority that this train gets. Durunto Express: This train also enjoys a high priorityon the tracks and is considered one of the fastest train. Tejas Express: So here is your answer, tejas enjoysthe fourth highest priority on the tracks meaning it can overtake any trainbarring the above three. So I believe yougot your answer the railways does provide Tejas priority but not outside ofit’s rule. For example if the tejas express and Howrah Rajdhani enter theKanpur central at the same time then it is for sure that the Rajdhani would besent before Tejas and Tejas won’t be allowed to leave Kanpur until the nextstation has given confirmation that the Rajdhani passed it.Thanks For Reading…Sources-HighestPriority Trains Of Indian Railways Q4 Whatis the best way to get rid of kidney stones? A4 Narayana Health, Health for all. Allfor health.2y The best way to getrid of Kidney Stones is by keeping the following points in mind: Kidney stones less than 5mm usually pass out withoutspecific treatment. An increase in fluid intake and painmedications are required. Kidney stones can be prevented by making a fewchanges in diet and habits. Diet should have anadequate amount of calcium. Eat the rightamount of protein-daily protein needs are usually met with 2-3 servings perday. Reduce the amount of sodium in the diet. Avoid excessivevitamin C supplements as oxalate is produced from vitamin C and large amountsmay increase the amount of oxalate content of urine. Do not take Vitamin D supplements without theprescription of a physician. Controlling blood sugar, blood pressure, bodyweight by regular exercise are all helpful to reduce stone formation. Source: NarayanaHealth[1] (Kidney Stones are more common than you think[2]) My note- Mynephrplogist has suggested to consume one measure full CITRALKA mixed with one glass of water once a week. Measuregiven with the medicine. I have experienced all small stones are sent outthrough urine after consuming it. This is just forinformation and any body desire to consume themedicine must do so only on prescription by the doctor. Q5 Howdo Italians eat so much olive oil? A5 Federico, Lives in Sardinia, Italy(1987–present)Updated Sep 3 This big boy(tree) on the photo below is estimated to havebetween 3000 to 4000 years of age, we call him “S'Ozzastru" in ourSardinian language, Thewild Olive Tree! You can find similar plants all over the Mediterranean:Italy, Greece, Spain, Tunisia, Lebanon, Turkey and so on. They've been living here before us, this is their homeand we are just their guests. Many many centuries ago, Mother Nature decided to blessmy people in the Mediterranean Basin with a majestic plant. An incredible tree, that not only can withstand the impressive amounts of sunand drought of our climate, not only is able to live for thousands of years, but it can also give us arguably one of the best oils on the planet: theextra virgin olive oil. Olive oil is agift from nature, not by chance its color resembles gold.It was cheap to make, it provided lot of good calories, it's super healthy andit tastes like nothing else. It goes well with almost any kind of ingredientfrom the Mediterranean, so well that we built our own cuisines around it. Italian cuisine without olive oilwouldn't be italian cuisine. Edit: The answerblew up, so to thank you all I'll show you some of my family home-made oliveoil from last year, notice the green tint still present even after severalmonths Q6 Whatis the best way to operate an air conditioner so that it consumes less power? A6 Vishal Saxena, Enthusiastic in AcTechnology from 10 Years 3yUse inverter Ac, as it consumes less energy. Keep thetemperature at the upper side. As it will reduce excess load on AC. Ac with R 290 and R 32 gases are more energy efficient. Keep the roomclosed. Keep the Ac fan on Automode. Use Bldc ceiling fan. Use ac with Bldc fan technology. Keep your Ac serviced periodically. Do not switch onelectronic equipment like TV, that generate heat. Keep the unused goods outside theroom. Keep tiles on your wall. Always get yourAc,s outdoor unit installed in shed. Color your wall with light shed. Use Led bulbs as it produces lessheat. If possible, do not build yourroof very high. Get your inner unitinstalled at a lower height and nearby bed. Do notswitch off and on Ac frequently Q7 IsIndian Railways really running in loss? A7 Vissapragada Krishna Vamsi,Btech inMechanical Engineering & Mechanical Engineering, Sagi Ramakrishnam RajuEngineering College (SRKREC) (Graduated 2021)Updated 2y Yes…. Let me explain youwith a example.Actually my home town is Rajahmundry (station code :Rjy) I study atbhimavaram (station code : bvrm) Distance betweenthem is 69km ( railway route) . Cost of ticket=20rs .I used to go home during holidays and weekends. There is a train(77242) from RJY to bvrm starts from Rjy at 4:25am and it reaches 7:10am tobvrm . The train is DEMU passenger. It runs on diesel . The mileage of train is about 1km /4ltrs of diesel. Let's come to thepoint . 69kms×4ltrs×72rupees= 19,872. Generally 125passengers will take train in first , second stations = 125×20. =2500. Next 60passengerstake train in next 3 stations = 60×15= 900. (15 is fare of ticket , as distancedecreases fare decreases). Next 50 passengerswill take train in next 3 stations = 50× 10=500. Next 50 passengerswill take train in next 3 stations= 50×10=500. Those numbers arejust estimated . The numbers may rise or deduce. Let's calculate the cost. 2500+900+500+500=4400. Let us assume it to5000(or) 6000. Now calculate the amount 19872–6000=13872 is lost per trip . In this train thereis no TC . So some people won't even take ticket at least .They are so manytrains running like this in India . EDIT :: thank you friendsby responding in comments . I want to say a fewthings for you . 1.Many of you said “ will government buy fuel forsame rate as the normal customers” My answer is no. I want you guys tosay me about how much rate does it get . 2. Next thing “will the engine consume 4ltr/ per km” My explanation : yes . Because the trainhas 12 coaches . (From my answer DEMU train) There is a powercar for every 4 coaches ,that means it has 3 power Cars. Each power car ispower on until the train reaches the destination . If each power car consumes1.5ltrs / km then , it takes about 4.5ltr /km . I just took 4ltrs/km . 3. Freight trains have more profit than passenger train . I accept thatpoint. But if we deduce these unnecessary wastage of these passenger trains itwould be more profit. 4. You know guys IR got only 57% of the fare. Thanks for yourresponse. Edit::2 Other thing aboutdiesel engines are,All shunting engines are diesel engines . Daily manypassenger trains are shunted to other tracks when they are not in use. Do you know many LHB coaches trains (rajdhani, duronto, shatabdi , humsafar, etc…) have generator cars . All generator cars requirehigh amount of diesel for producing electricity to coaches . I accept that theseLHB trains have high fare when compared to ICF trains . EDIT : 3 photo of our train.. after 2 stations . EDIT 4 :My mainmotto of the answer , by reducing these kind of loopholes we can increase theprofit more. My note- By removing senior citizen concession, Iread elsewhere the railway has made out crores of rupeesmaking out these types of losses to certain extent. Q8 Whyis the manufacturing of a Tesla car so complex that it has difficultydelivering? A8 Steve Baker, Senior Software Engineer(2013–present)Aug 29 Tesla cars are MINIMALIST - they are really simple -that’s why they make 30% profit on them (compared to about5% for Ford and GM). The Model Y (whichcarries by far the biggest shipping delay) uses cast aluminium front and rearframes - the space between them is filled with a “structural battery pack”. The electric motors are sophisticated - but there isno shiftable transmission, none of the crazy complexity of a modern gasolinecar engine. Even things like the wiring harnesses are super-simple because thecars have very few switches and lights - just one big flat panel display. The huge complexity lies in the software and theartificial intelligence - which they can make as many copies as they like forzero money and pretty much zero time in the factory to install it into the car. They are delivering at exactly the rate they planned todeliver at - 1 million cars in 2021, 2 million in 2022.Tesla have always had as a business-plan to double in size every 18months..which, so far, they’ve never missed. SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? The problem is the insane number oforders they are getting…even after pushing their prices up, they are STILL about a yearbacklogged on some models. Since they can make2 million cars a year - that suggests that they have around 2 millionback-orders. That might seem an implausibly large number - but bear in mindthat they ALSO have 1.6 million back-orders for the CyberTruck and “thousands”of pre-orders for the Semi-truck. WHAT ARE THEY DOING ABOUT THAT? Firstly, they are still building out and tweakingproduction at their two new GigaFactories (Austin and Berlin) - which shouldsuffice until they hit maybe 3 million cars per year. But they’ve alsobeen clearing land right behind the Austin factory - and it’s looking likethey’re preparing to increase it’s size by maybe 50%. They’re also working on building a SECOND GigaFactory inShanghai…and they’ve purchased land in Indonesia- probably for another Giga somewhere there. Since they’re operating with three GigaFactories rightnow - they’re clearly on track to double that and thereby reach 4 million carsin 2024. Ford and GM each produce about 6 million…sowe should expect Tesla to become the largest US car maker in 2025/26. Q9 Howdoes the law of karma work? A9 Rohit Virmani, I Love India Sep 4 British ruled India: And the Britsmurdered 35 million Indians. Britain contrived twelve devastating famines, looted USD 45 trillion and reduced India to an opium economy. Britain brokeIndia in two and left India with a life expectancy of 32 years. Britain today: Prime Ministersasks its people to buy new Kettle to save some bucks. Britain has droppedbehind India to become the world’s sixth largest economy. The Colonizer Britainis lagging behind India. This is how the ‘Law of Karma’ works! My note- I haveincluded this question just for information sake about Kettle. Nothing more andnot for discussions. Many Britishofficers were were good and loved India. Mr Peter Pandian collector of Madurai duringBritish period , wanted him to be cremated near the Madurai Meenakshi temple. Our Indian railways would not have been as today, unless the British laid the long trainroutes with many difficulties on those days. Poorva in hindi means eastern. Before theintroduction of Rajdhani Express, the train used to run as Deluxe Expressbetween Amritsar and Howrah. During that time, the train was given highest priority and was considered the premium categorysuperfast trains of Indian Railways. After the introduction of Rajdhani Express, the train lostits grandeur and priority. The train was made terminatedat New Delhi. And with due course of time, the “Deluxe” was stripped off fromits name to accommodate sleeper coaches. The train suffered with the time and was in huge demand,it's popularity did not go too down after the Rajdhani Express was introduced. Due to huge demandfor this train between New Delhi and Howrah, a second pair of Poorva Express (via Patna) wasintroduced on August 1, 1971. The train is namedon the basis of direction like there are many other trains named on the basisof direction. For example :-North East Express, connecting Delhi in North and Guwahati in East. NOTE :-As stated above, the trainPoorva Express used to run as Deluxe Express between Amritsar and Howrah in theperiod of 1956 to 1969.
