Experiences make or mars one's life as I could read 2 exchanging thoughts over the animals rearing and respecting. At the same time, half learnt and unlearnt practices as a waste disposal to animals,is not the real dharmic instinct. Every living being, from the animals down to the insects and tiny organisms, possesses souls. Like humans, they are also beings (bhutas) subject to the laws of Nature and the cycle of births and deaths. We may consider them ignorant, but they have their own language and intelligence. They also perform an important duty in creation and occupy an important place in the manifestation and evolution of life. Their duty is to nourish the humans through milk and through self-sacrifice. Crows and cows keep visiting the good habitat. Crows are described as ancestors but they are rare birds in the USA. If so, do ancestors not visit those areas or areas in India?. Rama hit the Indra crow with a darbai , then did Rama hit the crow?. Cows are Vedas. Feeding the people and animals all around and then eating the food, alone, makes one a NON-SINNER. (read yesterday quotes on food where the statement can be seen). 2 annād bhavanti bhūtāni parjanyād anna-sambhavaḥ yajñād bhavati parjanyo yajñaḥ karma-samudbhavaḥ; Living beings live on food, which is generated from cloud (rain) and further cloud is generated from ‘yagya’, the offering to God. The accumulated ‘yagya’ will be used as a means of action, i.e. todays’ offering will be gained tomorrow. THE WHOLE WORLD IS MADE UP OF ANNAM; ANNAM CHA BRAHMA; ALL SOULS ARE BRAHMAN; SO HELPING WITH FOOD TO ALL SPECIES, WHICH IS FEASIBLE, IS FEEDING THE BRAHMAM; BRAHMAM DO NOT ASK YOU TO FEED. YOUR GOOD ACTION AS IN THE B G IS EXPOSED, WHEN YOU HAVE AN EMPATHY IRRESPECTIVE OF FORMS. CROW IS ANCESTOR REBORN; BUT THEY MAY NOT BE YOUR THATHA AND PATTI; MAY BE ANY ONE WHOSE KARMA BOOKS OF ACCOUNTS HAVE LOW CREDITS. BY EXPRESSING YOUR EMPATHY, YOU EXPAND. SO WASTED FOOD , CONTAMINATED ONES, UNUSED ETC ARE NOT TO BE GIVEN TO OTHER SOULS. CHARITY IS GIVING WHAT YOU LOVE TO BRAHMAM OTHER SOULS AND NOT ALL SUNDRIES THROWABLES. HENCE ONLY WE REPORT TO GOD OUR FOOD AND THEN PART WITH THAT FOOD TO CROW IMMEDIATELY; THEN WE INVITE ADITIS; FINALLY WE EAT THE REMAINING. THAT IS PRASADAM. 3 * sarva-bhūtāni kaunteya prakṛtiṁ yānti māmikām **kalpa-kṣaye punas tāni kalpādau visṛjāmy aham *At the end of one kalp (the millennium or life time), all material elements are merged into Myprimitive material energy. At the beginning of the next millennium, O son of Kunti, those are again created by my potency. Presiding over My material energy, I created those in numerous forms repeatedly, according to the power of their nature. Working under my supreme command, these elements bring all the vigorous and inactive forms of energy, O son of Kunti. For this reason, the material world undergoes changes (of creation, maintenance, and dissolution). So will any one throw food unused to GOD as charity or human?. Also Gaya srardham is already discussed. KR IRS 111022
