I think, If we wiiget a sound body, Then we must be more conscious about our
health and foodlife.

Early morning is good for our health. Morning dishes arevery important for
starting our day.

The best breakfast for health and stay healthy includefoods likes eggs,
avocados, berries, bananas, Honey with warm, papaya is goodto eat papaya on an
empty.

The experts say it may not be good idea to eat heavy foodafter you wake up in
the morning.

So, we should bechanged our morning food habit. We must be eat healthy food so
that, we cansuccessfully lead a peaceful and healthy life.

We must be remembered that, sound mind live in a soundbody.

Q2         Is it true that Kochi Metro Rail drawselectric power from rail lines?

A2         Giri Nandan, Many hate the sound trainsmake. But it's music to my
ears. Updated 2y

In a sense -Yes. But technically, NO. A big NO.

My note- Lengthy answer .

Kochi Metro(KOMET)uses 750V DC traction with a third-rail mechanism for
delivering theelectricity to the rakes. Almost all Metro rail systems in India
usethird rail for power except Delhi, Chennai and Jaipur metros which use
catenarywires.

A third railis a method of providing electric power to a railway locomotive or
the rakes, through a semi-continuous rigid conductor placed alongside the
railway track. It is usedtypically in a mass transit / rapid transit system,
which has alignments in itsown corridors, fully or almost fully segregated from
the outside environment. A third rail system always uses Direct Current (DC)
electricity at muchlower voltages (500V-750V or so).

The trainshave metal contact blocks called shoes (or contact shoes or pickup
shoes) whichmake contact with the conductor rail. The tractioncurrent is
returned to the generating station through the running rails. Theconductor rail
is usually made of high conductivity steel, and the runningrails are
electrically connected using wire bonds or other devices, to minimizeresistance
in the electric circuit. Contact shoes whichmaintains a sliding contact can be
positioned below, above, or beside the thirdrail, depending on the type of
third rail used; these third railsare referred to as bottom-contact,
top-contact, or side-contact, respectively.

The conductorrails have to be interrupted at level crossings, intersections,
and substationgaps. Tapered rails are provided at the ends of each section, to
allow a smoothengagement of the train's contact shoes.

The position ofcontact between the train and the rail varies: some of the
earliest systemsused top contact, but later developments use side or bottom
contact. Now-a-days, bottom contacts are used which enable the conductor rail
to becovered, protecting track workers from accidental contact and
protectingthe conductor rail from snow and leaf fall…

Third Rail Vs. Overhead Catenary Wires

Third Rail-Advantages

Easy to build-    Lower construction costs-    Great for shorter distances
and low voltagesystems

Disadvantages

Uses DC, which isusually low(500V-750V). Higher voltages are dangerous.

Notcompatible with higher speeds and heavy loads

Requires frequentsubstations for longer distances.

The third rail doesnot lend itself to larger trains going faster over longer
distances. Thelimitations and infrastructure costs would start to outweigh the
benefits.

Safetyconcerns.

It’s a challengeto the authorities and track men in keeping careless people off
the tracks,especially in India.

Electrified rails(the third rail) are great for subway systems and rapid
transit vehicles. Thedisadvantages of the third rail are negated by the type of
service and theurban environment they run in.

Power is plentifulwithin city limits, and so powering the trains is not an
issue. The routes, even though a very large city, are rarely significantly
distant in railroadterms.

Tighter curveradius and frequent stops prevent subway and rapid transit trains
from hittingvery high speeds where a higher voltage would be necessary.

Overhead Catenary Wires

Advantages

DC or AC tractionmay be used. Mostly AC is used.

Uses highervoltages (25000V)

Transmits powerover greater distances, especially AC

Suitable for higherspeeds and heavy loads

Better suited forlong distances

More economical anduseful for larger networks

Wires run overhead.Safer

Disadvantages

The system iscomplex and costly to build

Not suitable forlow voltage DC

Vertical clearancescan be an issue

Due to the highervoltages that overhead catenary can carry safely, more
powerful trains can be operated with that power. This translates to higher
speeds where the track and equipment allows it. Thisalso allows powerful
locomotives to drag more tonnage in a freight context.

The higher voltages also allow power to transmitted overa greater distance,
particularly AC systems. These require far fewersubstations and thus less
substation infrastructure.

Overhead wireis also safer. In the case of street cars and light rail, it keeps
the wireaway from the public. Higher voltages (especially AC)absolutely MUST be
kept at a safe distance from the ground or public, as it asthe capacity to arc
out and electrocute people and property from a distance.Still some retards
climb on top of the train to show off just before he goesBoom!!

A small part has been extracted from Christian Brown’sanswer.

My note- Crossingof tracks is not permitted irrespective of brush is at top or
bottom except atpedestrial crossings.Evenif the brush is at bottom due to wear
and tear, top of wire can have lesserinsulation. In Chennai, it is overhead
traction; practicallyless problem. I have read else where fencing is provided
either side ofthe track prohibiting entry of people and crossing track. I hope
the answer isvery informative, simple and useful.

A3         How I can know the monthly currentconsumption of individual
electrical appliance of my home?

A3         Vishwas Acharya NThanks Mr. Faraday4y

First look at its nameplate and find out its wattage, for example a tube light
could be 23 W, a led bulb could be 7 to 15 W etc, afan can be around 75W, a 1
ton AC around 1000W, an instant geyser attend 3000W, a CRT TV around 150 W (40W
standby) , A LED TV around 80 W ( just 5Wstandby) and so on.

Then determine how many hours you use theappliance per day

Multiply the wattage with the number of hours toget the energy consumed by the
appliance in W-hr, divide this by 1000 to get the number of units consumedper
day in kilowatt-hour.

Multiply this by the number of days in a month toget the approximate energy
consumed by the appliance per month.

Examples

Tube light (26Wrating)

26 W* 6hr/day =156W-hr = 0.156 units/day

Total energy /month = 0.156*30 = around 4.5 units/month

Total bill due tothis use = 4.5 units * ₹ 5/unit = ₹22.5 per month

2. Led bulb (13 Wwith lumen output equal to the tube light )

The energy consumption is halved and the bill will bearound ₹11 /month.

If one bulb canresult in such savings, imagine the savings that can be had by
replacinginefficient appliances with better ones. Imagine how much energy is
saved andhow much it can benefit the planet ! Save energy folks, save theplanet
!

Q4         What are the benefits of eating jaggerywith grams every day?

A4         Shinchan Sat

Jaggery and grams

1.Make our bodystrong2. Good for brain3. Control blood pressure (good for
anemic people)4.Good for skin 5. Lower chances of heart attack

Q5         Are electric water heaters dangerous?

A5         Venkateswara Swamy Swarna, FormerScientist, Metallurgist, Quality /
NDT Manager at Department of Atomic Energy,India (1967–2008)1y

Not, ifinstalled and maintained properly.

Can giveelectric shocks if badly maintained.

We have been usingstorage type electric heaters for nearly 30 years without
problem.

Q6         Why would pizzas be seen as luxury foodin India?

A6         Sachin Nair, Business Analyst(2021–present)1h

Perspective. Nothing else.

Indians saw andheard about pizza in Hollywood movies. It seemed delicious, the
characters ate it like it wassomething special. It was always ordered when
there were friends anda party, not when the character just needed food because
they were hungry.

Pizza started to be widely available when brands likePizza Hut and Dominos etc
came to India. Where did theycome up? Posh markets in the big cities. That made
sense, since people whowould know about pizza would be people who had seen
pizza on the screen, orthose who had eaten it overseas. So that built an aura
around it, as something special. Prices were alsohigh, compared to regular
Indian food.

And pizza took it'stime filtering down to the tier 2 and 3 cities, still
maintaining it's aura asan exotic, foreign dish. Italso helped that it tasted
very different from traditional Indian food. Bakedbase with baked cheese is not
like most Indian cuisine.

But…Now thatpizza is available almost everywhere, the aura is gone. It's no
longer exotic or foreign. Look at food courts or markets, and there is often a
much bigger crowd for Indian food than for pizza.

There is this Tamilmovie Kaka Muttai(crow's egg). It's about two young boys in
a Chennai slum who wantto taste pizza and the adventures they have. Watch it to
get a differentperspective.

Q7         Does metabolism help control type 2diabetes?

A7         Dr Maluk Mohamed,Co-Founder, VicePresident (Research) &Head -India
at Twin Health (2018–present)Aug 24

Diabetes impairs the body’s metabolism, affecting how itprocesses and stores
energy. This happens due to a lack ofinsulin, which is a hormone that controls
the amount of glucose in the blood. If there is not enough insulin, blood
glucose levels can become too high, whichcauses a range of problems over time.
Getting exercise, strengthening muscles, and reaching or maintaining a moderate
weight canimprove blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes by
increasing BMR andinsulin sensitivity.

Q8         What are the benefits of havinggrounded wires in your house?

A8         Gopala Krishnan,Former AssistantGeneral Manager 1996-2004 at
Department of Telecom (1966–2004)Just now

Grounded wiresare earthing in parallel. So total earth resistance reduceto
required value of about 2 ohms. In most homes earth wiresand jointed to common
earth. This earth must be standard. A standard earth provides desired ohmic
value of less than 2 ohms.

Q9         What are some fruits which have nosugar at all, and can be eaten by
diabetics without worrying about their bloodglucose levels?

A9         Binay Mishra, Health & NutritionCoach Fri

For people withdiabetes, managing blood sugar levels is essential. When it
comes to choosing fruits, there are a fewno-sugar options that can be great for
diabetics.

Tomatoes, avocados, olives, grapefruits, lemons, limes, and cucumbers are all
fruits thathave no sugar. These fruits are also low in carbs andcalories, which
can be helpful for people looking to manage their diabetes orlose weight. While
all fruit contains natural sugars, these no-sugar optionscan be a great way to
help regulate blood sugar levels and maintain a healthyweight.

Q10              Where does soap go after it isused in a washing machine?

A10       Gopala Krishnan, Former Assistant GeneralManager 1996-2004 at
Department of Telecom (1966–2004)Just now

Initially I thought it is a question for questioning inQuora.

If we do manualwashing, the detergent bar remains with us after used on the
cloth . But in a washing machine if one add more detergent/ detergent
liquid.Nothing remains in the tray.

So detergentremains in the cloth put on washing, if the washing cycle selected
is for lessperiod. In spite of rinsing and drying, if the selected cycle is for
less period anddetergent added is more, it sticks to cloth. Engineerscoming on
visit instruct to add detergent depend on washing cycle selected.

So better add lesser detergent , if washing cycle selectedis for less duration.

Detergentapplied and used for washing goes with waste water from the outlet
DURINGWASHING
