Q1         What do the rest of the Indians think about the Telugus?

A1          Vicky Rathore, South Indian movies Thu

My native place isNanded, Maharashtra but I've been living in Hyderabad for 6
years now. Thethings I know/observed about Telugu's.

When Telugu's make friends, they make it for life. They will not care even if
it's midnight and someone needs help, they'll cometo the rescue. *Experienced.

There are three main types of Telugu phonetics. One bearing the Coastal Andhra
accent, second is the Rayalaseema accent andthird the Telangana accent. There
is always a rift among these three :P

Telugu’s weddings, treat to eyes, too lavish.Awesome food, amazing people.

Spicy food - beat them. They eat spices a lot, a lot.….

They are very proud of their language, they politelyflaunt that Telugu Language
is 2400 Years Old!!

Every other guy bearing from Andhrapradesh orTelangana is settled somewhere in
California or New Jersey.

When we talk about Telugu’s we think about Idli, wada, dosa, biryani etc. But
trust me there are lots of other cuisines Telugu'scrave for.

Extremely religious, no one can stop Telugu’s fromworshiping at temples on
Mondays and at churches on Sundays.

They’re die hard fans of Chiranjeevi, AlluArjun, Prabhas, Naani, Pawan Kalyan
and Nandamuri Balakrishna. They are tooaffectionate towards the tollywood and
they love their actors.

They’re very proud with Baahubali’s success but noone can take away Magadheera
from their hearts.

Aaruku, Vizag beaches, Srisailam, Tirupati, BirlaTemple, Charminar, Falaknuma
are their prides.

Two souls, Andhra and Telangana, one heart - Hyderabad.

Q2         What are the amazing facts in this world?

A2          Vita Lawson, Marketer. Former brandambassador. Writer Thu

1. Humans have moreempathy for dogs than they do for other humans.

2. ATMs and publictoilets are equally as dirty.

3. Honey neverspoils. So in theory, you can eat 5000 year old honey.

4. Zebras are actually black with white stripes.

5. A whopping 76%of people blame their farts on someone else.

6. Your nose can remember 50,000 different smells, and women are better smellers
than men.

7. If your house smells like fish for absolutely noreason, 9 times out of 10
itmeans that there is an electrical fire.

8. You’re morelikely to be sexually assaulted by a dolphin than eaten by a
shark.

9. In Massachusetts, it’s illegal to consume morethan 3 sandwiches at a funeral.

10. People lie better when they have to go to thebathroom.

Q3         Why are American Airlines planes silver?

A3          Jim Mowreader, Printing Expert(2008–present)Dec 22

American Airlinesdecided to polish their jets because paint is heavy. There’s
about 500 poundsof paint on a Boeing 737, and larger jets have more. The idea
was, if they removed the 500 pounds ofpaint from the aircraft they could save
money on fuel and carry a small amountof extra cargo.

American Airlines no longer buys polished jets, although they still have one in
their “retro livery.” Two things led to thisdecision. One is that American has
Airbus jets in their fleet along withBoeings. An Airbushas composite fuselage
components, which must be painted. The otheris that it costs more to maintain
the polish on an unpainted jet than they weresaving in fuel.

American’s Retro Livery program is very cool.American Airlines has bought
several airlines in its history. They maintain onejet in the liveries of each
of those airlines, plus one from each of theirhistoric liveries, to remember
where they came from.

Q4         What foods are bad for the liver?

A4          Muhammad Khubaib, CEO at Abah.PK(2016–present)Tue

There arecertain foods that may be harmful to the liver in large amounts or for
people whohave liver damage or liver disease. Some of these foods include:

Fried foods: These can be high in fat and maycontribute to the development of
fatty liver disease.

Alcohol: Excessive alcohol consumption can leadto liver damage and increase the
risk of liver disease.

Processed foods: These can be high in salt, sugar, and unhealthy fats, which may
contribute to liver damage.

High-sugar foods and drinks: Consuming too muchsugar can lead to obesity, which
is a risk factor for liver disease…

It is important to keep in mind that it is not necessarilythe specific food
that is bad for the liver, but rather the amount andfrequency of consumption
that can have negative effects. It is important to maintain a healthy, balanced
diet and to limit your intakeof unhealthy foods. If you have liver disease or
are at risk of developing it,your doctor or a dietitian can help you create a
meal plan that is appropriatefor your specific needs.

Q5         What are some possible explanations for the success of theBrahmin
community in India?

A5          Balaji Viswanathan, orthodox Hindu whodoes Panchayutana puja
everyday. Dec 26

There were a few successful social factors that helpedthe Brahmins. These are
not much studied. For theinsiders, it is easy to ignore these factors and be
instead reliant on their “proud genes”. Foroutsiders, the specifics were hard
to focus and relied on generic claims.

First, Brahmins are arguably the largest power block inIndia. While there are
only about 60 million Brahmins— less than 5% of India — you have to realise
that Indian castes are quitefragmented.

Most importantly, unlike other Hindu castes, Brahminswere not encumbered by
regional differences. Forinstance, a Kshatriya caste of UP would not have any
real connection with aKshatriya member of say Karnataka. On the other hand,
Brahmins across the country studiedthe same Vedic systems & Sanskrit, that
helped them to move across regionswithout losing their status. While there are
some regionaldifferences, these are far less compared to other castes.

Thus, a kingin Bengal could bring Brahmins from the south to take over the
spiritualpractices inhis state and challenge the local priests. A southern
Maratha king could bringBrahmins from the north for his coronation. A Brahmin
wasa Brahmin — whether he was Kashi or Kerala. The regional variationsare quite
less. Thus, the Brahmin daily prayers starts from praying for country—
Bharatavarsha — and only as optional part include local geography [such
asNaramada for some southern Brahmins].

Brahmins also had various events — such as the annualthread ceremony
[Upakarama] that brought members together. There were also various Yajnas.
Again, these were all beyond the regionalbarriers.

This allows Brahmins to often have one consolidatednation-level voice that
brings a huge level of numbersand enormous mobility. Other castes often have to
count on the power of onlytheir regional/local members.

In the past 3decades, a number of movements have challenged the Brahmin power
by formingsimilar cross-regional power blocs — such as the Dalit movement, OBC
movementand Islamic movements.

Second, was the Brahmin stress on education. Far beforethe modern day concept
of studying 12 years [1st to 12thstandards], the Vedic patashalas had a 12 year
schooling concept. This wasinstitutionalised. You might have kindergarten at
your home and then haveUpanayana in your first grade and off you go for 12
years of residentialschooling at the Gurukula. Then you would have qualifying
exams.

Such a systematic, formalised education didn’t exist inmost communities of the
world in the ancient &medieval times. Some people often talk about denying
education to the masses. While it might be true in certain cases, for the most
part there was hardly anyinterest for such a hard, complicated path that took
off a productive workingmember from the family’s earning potential. Even today
it requires a lot ofconvincing of parents, leave alone a few thousand years ago
when the Vedicsystem was founded.

Having such aformal education was a rare, powerful strength. Thus, Brahmin
pandits weresought after by many kings to resolve a lot of key issues. It was
hard for themto find someone else who sacrificed all their youth age for
education, forgoingearnings.

Third, was a huge stress on individual discipline. Therewas a massive community
pressure against drinking, gamblingand a bunch of other evils that often
brought down productive members in othercommunities. While you could still find
a Brahmin drunkard, historically it wasrare. Brahmin communities developed an
enormous system to reduce the chances ofit. These included eating very mild
foods [Satvik], practicing meditation etc.And the bar was set quite high. While
the society would tolerate a farmer ortrader who drinks liquor, a Brahmin
priest who got out of control with liquorwas excommunicated.

The system of control not only helped individuals spinningout of control to
financial & health ruin, butalso helped many in power use Brahmins as trusted
people to keep their money& power. A person without habits of liquor,
prostitutes and gambling wouldhave less pressures to get blackmailed or with
temptations into doing illegalacts.

Fourth, Brahmin communities were also extremely crazy aboutvarious parts of
hygiene. They would not touch eachother [hugs or handshakes], very careful
about food separation, religious cleanhome and stay far from anything unclean.
Often times, this zeal got out ofcontrol by blocking anyone who was associated
with unclean work — such as thosewho clean toilets or burning dead bodies —
leading to the institution ofuntouchability. Where such practices were kept in
control without becoming asocial evil, the Brahminpractices were very useful as
a disease control. Thus, Brahmincommunities possibility escaped many of the
deadly epidemic waves that shookmuch of the world over the millenia.

Finally, the stress on long memories. Brahmins have verylong memories.
Frequently on a daily basis we would go torituals and mantras thousands of
years old. This gave 2 strengths. One in timeswhen large memories were
important for book keeping, administrative and officetasks. Second, as a way
use inspiration to get out of mundane, daily pressures.

The good part isthat almost all of these strengths can be replicated by other
communities. There is nothing magical or genetical about it. These are
allsocio-economic factors that can be used to uplift all of India.

Q6         Didpeople have big families back then because they didn't have
effective birthcontrol, or because they needed to continue the human species?

A6          Mats Andersson, Common or GardenArmchair Historian Tue

“Continue the human species” is a pretty abstract goal for a medievalpeasant,
you know.

The reason was muchsimpler. If you had 12children, you could be pretty
confident that 3 or 4 of them would survive untilthey were adults. By that
time, you would be too weak to work thefields, but your children could support
you without leaving their own familiesstarving, and you’d still be useful for
things like repairs and babysitting.

It was your old age pension.

Of course, noteveryone was that lucky; even if you had 12 children or more, a
famine or anepidemic could wipe them all out.

Child mortality was simply horrible until after 1900,in most places. In London
in 1800, a newborn had only a 10% chance of seeingtheir 5th birthday.

The game-changer was vaccines, and of course generallyimproved hygiene once
there was a good understandingof how diseases work. Industrialisation of
agriculture and internationalshipping has done a lot against famines, too.

Q7         Ithas been 10 years since my father died. We got to know that there
are hissavings in SBI without nominating a nominee. My mother also expired.
Now, weare two sisters. What will be the procedure to withdraw the money?

A7          Amuthan Subbiah, Former Chief Managerat State Bank of India (SBI)
(1980–2018)Thu

If you know the account number of your dad, please do thefollowing.

Check with the bank whether the balance in theaccount is still lying with them.
Normally if an account remains inoperativefor more than ten years, banks use to
transfer it to the RBI. What ever may bethe case, give a letter to the bank
along with a copy of your father's deathcertificate. This will enable the bank
to freeze the balance or get back theamount from the RBI.

In the meantime, arrange for obtaining a legal heircertificate. For this, you
need your parents' deathcertificates . Both the sisiters' names will appear in
the legal heircertificate and your mom's name will appear as deceased.

Submit the death certificate and legal heircertificate along with your KYCs
like PAN, AADHAR etc.,. You need to submit theDeceased Settlment Claim form in
the format obtained from the bank.

Either both can jointly receive the amount or you canidentify one among you to
receive the amount.

If the amount is less, bank will pay you by open payorder which you can encash
it immediately. If it's beyond Rs.50000/—, they willissue a crossed pay order
or according to your request, they can send aNEFT/RTGS to your account.

Normally bank staffare not conversant with the procedure though it's very
simple.

If you find anyinconvenience in getting back the amount, re open this request
so that I canguide you further.

Q9         Whyis oxygen not available in a high level of Earth?

A9          Pradeen Krishna G Tue

That is not true; oxygen is there, the percentage of oxygen in the air is the
same at sea level as it is at highaltitudes, which is around 21%. However, at
high altitudes the pressure is lower and air is morespread out. This leads to
less oxygen availability for the body ineach breath. Oxygenmust be kept on
earth via gravity, just like everything else.

Oxygen molecules will be pulled down towards theearth by gravity, and therewill
be more of them at low altitude.

Q10               Whydon't wild animals attack an open Jeep when going on a
jungle safari? Can'tthey see color because of color blindness?

A10        Abhishek Ambad, Growth Marketer |Digital marketing | SEO Dec 7

Recently I went tothe fallen forest.

We toured twice, once from Sasan Gir Gate and the second time from Devaliya Gate.

An open jeep wasavailable from Sasan Gir Gate.

But the jeep wascovered from Devaliya Gate.

When I wanted toknow the reason for this, the guide said that Sasan Gate is
very old but it has been only a few yearssince Devaliya Gate, lions etc. may
not be fully used to the movement of jeeps,so only covered jeeps are run on
this route.

The animals of theSasan road have been watching this movement since birth and
start understandingthat these jeeps are not a threat to them and the forest
guard is also not anenemy nor food. There are enough animals to feed and hunt.

And most of the safari routes are very old where this stagehas come that
animals have started to understand thatjeeps and humans are not a threat to
them, so they do not attack.
