Q1         What is reverse osmosis? What isosmosis?

A1         Lakshmi Balasubramanian, M.Sc. Botany from Alagappa University5y

Osmosis is the movement ofwater molecules from a region ofhigh concentration
(of water) to a region of low concentration through asemipermeable membrane.
Thismovement creates Osmotic pressure.

Reverse osmosis is, as the name suggests, 'the reverse of osmosis’.Water
travels from a regionwhere the water concentration is low to a region where the
water concentrationalready is high.

That’s against nature and therefore obviously needs some energy in theform of
hydrostatic pressure more than the osmotic pressure.

My note- Very simpleexplanation

Q2         How long does a typical householdreverse osmosis unit last?

A2         Gopala Krishnan, FormerAssistant General Manager 1996-2004 at
Department of Telecom (1966–2004) Justnow

It depends on the usage andavailability of spares. Whennew models arrive, with
attractive features, if at all the old one works, women folk who normally work
withit, desires new models.

In India there are models like Aqua emerald with storing tank along with the
system. When tank isfull, automatically system gets OFF.  Inletwater is always
connected.

In old models, all components open, wiring open, having noappearance, Water must
be switched ON, RO water must be collected from tube toa barrel, ensure no
overflow, switch OFF inlet water etc.

I am having the old model for the last ten years and new model for thelast
three years. Both areserviced quarterly. More used one is the new model with
storagetank.

So, if well maintained, till the spares of the model are available, theycan be
used.

Q3         Do Persian cats make good family pets?

A3         Animal Lover | Dog Lover| Cat Lover | Loving Husband11h

Persian cats are known fortheir beautiful, long hair and flattened faces. They
are a popular breed of cat that is often considered a luxury pet. While theyare
certainly beautiful and make great companions, there are some things toconsider
before bringing a Persian cat into your family home.

Temperament

Persian cats are generally very calm and docile. They are known for theirsweet
and gentle nature and are often referred to as "lap cats." They enjoy being
heldand cuddled and are great with children. However, theycan be shy or
reserved with strangers, so it's important tosocialize them early on.

Grooming

One of the biggest challenges of owning a Persian cat is grooming. Their long,
thick hair requiresdaily brushing to prevent matting and tangling. They also
require regularbathing to keep their coat clean and healthy. If you're not
preparedto commit to the grooming process, a Persian cat may not be the right
choicefor you.

Health Issues

Persian cats are prone to several health issues, including respiratoryproblems,
eye problems, and dental issues. Their flat faces can also lead to breathing
difficulties, especially inhot and humid weather. Regularvisits to the vet and
proper care are important to keep your Persian cathealthy and happy.

Lifestyle

Persian cats are indoor cats and do not do well outside. They prefer acalm and
quiet environment and may be stressed by loudnoises or sudden movements. They
also require a lot of attention andplaytime, so it's important to make sure you
haveenough time to devote to your Persian cat.

Allergies

If you or a family member has allergies, a Persian cat may not be thebest
choice. They sheda lot of hair and dander, which can trigger allergies in some
people. If you'reunsure, spend some time with a Persian cat before bringing one
home to see ifyou have any allergic reactions.

In conclusion, Persiancats can make great family pets if you're prepared to
commit to their groomingand health needs. They are gentle and affectionate cats
that enjoy beingaround people. However, they are prone to health issues and
require a lot ofattention and care. If you're considering a Persian cat, make
sure you have thetime and resources to take care of them properly.

Q4         Why are seats closest to the wing of anairplane supposed to be among
the safer areas to sit when flying?

A4         Erika Fernandez, Experiencein Aviation Field Thu

The wings are the most stablepart of the aircraft, and sitting close to them
can provide a smoother rideduring turbulence. The wingposition provides a
natural barrier to the cabin, which can absorb the impactof an external force
and protect the passengers. Also, in case of an emergency, the wings provide an
easyaccess point for emergency exits and evacuation slides, reducing thetime
required to exit the plane and potentially saving lives.

It is worth noting that while the seats closest to the wings are generally
consideredsafe, the safest seats on an airplane depend on several factors,
including thetype of aircraft and the nature of the flight.

For example, ***on larger planes, sitting towards the rear of the aircraftcan
be safer during an emergency evacuation. Furthermore, passengersshould always
pay attention to the safety briefings provided by the flightattendants and
follow their instructions during an emergency.

My note-Elsewhere I read nothing like safer seats towards the back of the plane.

Q5         Which is better for you, fruit, orvegetables?

A5         Aisha Agrawal, B. Techfrom Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology,
Management and Gramothan(Graduated 2020)8h

Both fruits and vegetables are important components of a healthy diet, and they
offer different nutritional benefits. Here's a comparison:

Fruits:

Fruits are generally high in essential vitamins, minerals, and dietary fibre.

They are excellent sources of vitamin C, potassium, and folate.

Fruits are typically sweet or tangy due to their natural sugar content, which
can provide a quick energy boost.

They often contain antioxidants that can help protect against certaindiseases.

Vegetables:

Vegetables are low in calories and rich in dietary fibre, which aidsdigestion
and promotes a feeling of fullness.

They are excellent sources of essential vitamins and minerals, such asvitamin
A, vitamin K, and potassium.

Vegetables generally have a wider variety of nutrients compared tofruits.

Consuming a diverse range of vegetables can contribute to overall healthand
well-being.

The choice between fruits and vegetables depends on individual dietaryneeds,
taste preferences, and specific nutritional goals.

It's generally recommended to have a balanced diet that includes bothfruits and
vegetables toensure a wide range of nutrients.

Q6         Which is more important RAM or SSD?

A6         Mcleodproducts, BusinessConsultant | Digital Marketing Services | IT
Guru May 9

When it comes to computer performance, two of the most importantcomponents are
RAM and SSDs.

RAM, or random-access memory, is the short-term memory of your computer, and it
is where yourcomputer stores data that it needs to access quickly.

SSD, or solid-state drive, is atype of storage device that uses flash memory to
store data. So, which is more important, RAM or SSD? The answer is that
bothcomponents are important, but for different reasons.

RAM is important because it affects your computer's performance in manyways.
When you open a program, your computer loads it intoRAM so that it can access
it quickly. The more RAM your computerhas, the more programs it can run
simultaneously without slowing down. If you have too little RAM, your computer
will start to slow down, andyou may experience lag or freezing when running
multiple programs at once.

SSDs, on the other hand, are important because they affect how quicklyyour
computer can access data. When you open a file, your computer reads itfrom the
storage device and loads it into RAM. If you have a slow storage device, such
as a traditional hard drive, itcan take a long time for your computer to access
data, which can slow down yourcomputer's performance.

SSDs are much faster than traditional hard drives, which is why they
arebecoming more and more popular. When you install an SSD in your computer,
you will notice a significantimprovement in its performance. Programs will load
faster, your computerwill boot up faster, and files will open more quickly.

In terms of which is more important, RAM or SSD, it really depends onyour
specific needs and use case. If you use your computer for tasks that require a
lot of multitasking, such as video editing or running virtual machines, you will
benefit from havingmore RAM. If you use your computer for tasks that require a
lot of data access, such as gaming or working with large files, you will benefit
from having a fastSSD.

Overall, both RAM and SSD are important components of your computer, andyou
should try to have as much of both as possible. A computer with a lot of RAMS
and a fast SSD willprovide the best performance, but if you must choose between
the two, it reallydepends on what you use your computer for. If you are a gamer
or work with large files, a fast SSDis more important, while if you are a power
user who runs multiple programs atonce, more RAM is essential.

My note- I am using ACER Laptop with windows 10 installed now. On   updating it
has changed to windows 11. In addition, I have installed Microsoft office365.
All these things make my laptop slow. It takes at least 2 minutes to opena
file. Once opened there is no problem. I will be adding RAM as well as SSDsoon
to this laptop. Since I have one more Laptop ASUS, which functionperfectly,
this ACER laptop is a standby.

This information I have added here for the fact that certain laptops
haveprovision for updating and expansion, while certain may not have.

Q7         How do I regulate daily sugar intakewithout skipping fruits and
daily beverages?

A7         Suraj Prajapati,6h

Regulating daily sugar intake while still including fruits and beveragesin your
diet can be achieved by following these guidelines:

Understand the different types of sugar: Not all sugars are equal.Natural
sugars found in fruits, vegetables, and dairy products come withadditional
nutrients, fibre, and are generally healthier than added sugarsfound in
processed foods and beverages.

Set a sugar limit: The American Heart Association recommends limiting added
sugars to no more than 25grams (6 teaspoons) per day for women and 36 grams (9
teaspoons) per day formen. This excludes the natural sugars present in fruits
and dairy products.

Read food labels: Pay attention to food labels and ingredient lists. Look for
added sugars such assucrose, high-fructose corn syrup, glucose, fructose,
maltose, and dextrose.Choose foods with lower sugar content or opt for products
without added sugarswhenever possible.

Choose whole fruits: Whole fruits contain fibre, which helps slow down sugar
absorption. Enjoy avariety of fruits but be mindful of portion sizes. Instead
ofdrinking fruit juice, eat the whole fruit to benefit from the fibre content.

Be cautious with dried fruits: While dried fruits are a convenient snack, they
are concentrated in sugar andcan contribute to high sugar intake if consumed
excessively.Keep your portion sizes small and opt for fresh fruits whenever
possible.

Control portion sizes: Moderationis key. Pay attention to portionsizes of
sweetened beverages, including juices, sodas, and energy drinks. Limitthe
amount consumed and consider diluting them with water or opting forunsweetened
versions.

Make smart beverage choices: Selectbeverages with little or no addedsugars,
such as water, unsweetened tea or coffee, or infused water with slicesof fruits
or herbs. Be cautious with sweetened beverages, including flavouredcoffees,
sodas, and certain energy drinks, as they can contribute significantlyto your
daily sugar intake.

Be mindful of condiments andsauces: Many condiments and sauces, such as ketchup,
barbecue sauce, and salad dressings, contain added sugars.Read labels and
choose options with lower sugar content or make your own athome using healthier
ingredients.

Gradually reduce sugar intake: Ifyou currently consume a high numberof added
sugars, consider gradually reducing your intake over time. This allowsyour
taste buds to adjust, making it easier to adapt to lower sugar levels.

Focus on overall diet quality:While it's important to regulatesugar intake,
it's equally crucial to prioritize overall dietary quality.Ensure your diet
includes a variety of nutrient-dense foods, such asvegetables, whole grains,
lean proteins, and healthy fats, to support overallhealth and well-being.

Remember, it's essential to listen to your body and find a balance thatworks
for you. Consulting with a registered dietitian can also providepersonalized
guidance and support to help you regulate your sugar intakeeffectively.

My note- If one is habituatedof not consuming anything with refined sugar, even
adding a small quantity willappear as more sweet- myexperience.

Q8         How many engines are there in anaeroplane, and what is the main
engine name?

A8         Vishnu Ravi, AviationEnthusiast | Content Creator May 9

The type of aircraft and its intended use dictates the number and type
ofengines it requires. Aquick search suggests that small general aviation
planes that require up to 400horsepower per engine typically rely on opposed,
air-cooled four- andsix-cylinder piston engines. This trend is also observed in
mostgeneral aviation and privateaircraft, which still primarily rely on
internal combustion pistonengines and propellers.

Commercial airplanes, on the other hand, can have either two or fourengines. It
is common for wide-body airplanes tohave four engines to enhance passenger
capacity and safety.

There are two primary categories of aircraft engines: jetengines and
reciprocating engines. Jet engines include a variety ofsubtypes such as
turbojet, turboprop, turbofan, ramjet, pulsejet, and scramjet.

In conclusion, the type and size of an aircraft determines the
engineconfiguration. General aviation and private planes typically useinternal
combustion piston engines, whereas commercial aircraft may havetwo or four
engines. Wide-body planes usually come equippedwith four engines to provide
greater passenger capacity and safety. There are two main types of aircraft
engines: jet and reciprocating engines.
