Q1         What are some unwritten social ruleseveryone should know?

A1         Sejal, Indian Updated Jan23

Dress well no matter what the occasion.

Always carry cash.

Always getup when you are sitting, and someone come to greet you.

Always comment on good things do not keep in heart.

If the phone is on the speaker inform.

Chat to anyone who is sitting alone at a party or in a group.

Do not have the impulse to sit near look-alike you. If everyone fulfilsthis,
people who represent any minority will end up sitting alone.

If feasible, avoid the plan to go outdoor if you have a runny nose.

Do not swipe left or right if individual shows you a photo on theirphone.

Wave your hand rather than calling his or her name if someone is far oron phone
or earphones plugged in.

Offer a glass of water to thedelivery man.

People know the worth. If successful wear shirt of three hundred it seemsthree
thousand and if unsuccessful wear three thousand it seems three hundred. Do not
show off.

When anyone gets shouted at do not look at them. It is more awkward.

Always open the door for the person coming behind you. Does not matter ifit is
a guy or a girl.

Stop being late, it is irritating.

When someone starts talking about their conditions, do not start talkingabout
yours.

Never ask a shy person what is wrong or ask them ‘why aren’t you talkingmore?’
It only makes them feel more awkward.

When visiting someone's house, carry something.

When you open a gift, just say thank you. Do not say, "It's tooexpensive!"

Being vegetarian or non-vegetarian is a choice. Do not ask anyone why itis so.

Do not sympathize with anyone in public. This will embarrass a personmore than
be laughing at.

Do not expect others to understand how hard you are working and living.Everyone
doing.

If you like working with smart people, be prepared to be used by themtoo. As
well as Worshipped and learn from them too. Your attitude.

Do not make suggestions; Butwhen it comes to house, car, marriage do not give
advice. Because these are especiallyimportant things & if something goes wrong,
you will be blamed, or they maystop talking to you.

Greeting Etiquette = The 6S- Stand, See, Smile, State, say, Shake

Do not look at your phone when others are talking to you.

Q2         What are some incredible facts aboutthe Indian Armed Forces?

A2         Akshay Rana, recommendedtwice for Army & IAF, Cleared UPSC CDS and
AFCAT7mo

I am going to tell you a small story via which you will know the level
ofprofessionalism in the Indian Armed Forces:

Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa.

The General who told Pakistannot to release his captured son.

Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa with his son K.C Cariappa.

On last day of 1965 war between India and Pakistan, Squadron Leader K.C.
Cariappa, son of then General K.M Cariappa was flying near Pakistan border, and
he wasshot down by Pakistani's. Later he was taken as Prisoner by the Pakistan
Army.

During the interrogation Pakistani army came to know that he was son ofGeneral
Cariappa. Then the Pakistani General Ayub Khan offered to releaseJunior
Cariappa.

However General Cariappa declined the offer and he told that, “All the captured
Indian Soldiers were his sons and all of them shouldbe looked after by
Pakistan.”

Later then Sq. Ldr. K.C.Cariappa along with other soldiers was released.

1 year later after his release K.C Cariappa said that “My dad was a manof high
principles. For him, his son and all other soldiers were the same. Even though
Ayub Khan was his junior and was close to him, he refused toget me released
before the others.”

This shows Field Marshal K.MCariappa's Professionalism andlove for his soldiers
and country.

Q3,        do we see rich kids at IITs/NITs?

A3         Hardik Airy, IITian UpdatedApr 24

Yesterday we had faculty student dinner arranged for a friendlyinteraction with
teachers.

An unwritten code is — You come to these functions dressed in formalsdespite of
the number of lectures that you attended in your shorts, t shirtsand slippers.

The evening was lit, the food was simmering, and the crowd startedgathering.

The only problem — I hadforgotten my formals back at home!

I was standing at the balcony staring disheartened at the night skywatching
others get ready in their best getups, applying perfumes all over.

In came my friend. He asked me — “Hey, don't you go?”

I told him about my plight in thesimilar soothing tone — “I don't have Formals
to wear".

He announced this in the whole corridor and that was it.

Flying towards me came a Shirt.Another one brought me Pants. Thirdone pointed
towards the extra pair of formal Shoes under his bed.

Took someone's watch. Picked someone else's glasses. And I was ready to
go.Without a Rich Heart, Wealth is just an ugly Beggar.

Do not know about Money but I do have some “RICH” IITian friends.

Q4         What are the behaviours of a confidentperson?

A4         Priyambad Singh, Lives inIndia (1996–present)8mo

I am sure you must have been his interviews and speeches.

This is SubrahmanyamJaishankar, an Indian diplomat and politician serving as
the Minister ofExternal Affairs of the government of India since May 2019.

Whenever I see his interviews, I see confidence, fearlessness, and lovefor his
country.

I will quote here an excerpt from one of his interviews which I sawrecently.

The Interviewer: Mr Jaishankar there will always be two axes. At thispoint it
is an understood fact that we have the US led west and the China lednext
potential axis. So where do you think India fits into?

Dr Jaishankar: This is exactly where I disagree with you. This is theconstruct
you are trying to impose on me, and I do not accept it. It is not important for
me tojoin this axis and if I am not a part of this axis, I need to join the
other. We are one-fifth of world population, fifth largest economy. I amentitled
have my own side, I am entitled to have my own choices and my choices willnot
be cynical and transactional, but there will be a balance of my values andmy
interest. There is no country in this world that disregard its interests.

To be honest I am a huge fan of Dr S Jaishankar, congress leader RahulGandhi
calls it as an arrogant Indian foreign policy but when I see himdelivering
speeches, I canonly see a confident man having immense love for his country.

Q5         Lord Shiva's temple where the size ofthe Nandi idol increases every
year, where is it and what are the details?

A5         Surendra Kumar Kumawat,PR 20

Bizarre temple of Ramayana period, which is beyond the rules ofscience....

The size of Nandi's idol in this temple increased so much that the pillarhad to
be removed.

The name of this temple located in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh is Sri
YangatiUmamaheswara Temple. It isbeing said about this unique temple that due
to the increasing size of Nandi, some pillars lying on the way had to be
removed. Here many pillars around Nandihad to be removed one by one.

It was built by King HariharaBukka Raya of the Sangam dynasty of the
Vijayanagar Empire in the 15th century. This temple is located 308 kmfrom
Hyderabad and 359 km from Vijayawada. Which reflects the traditions of
thePallava, Chola, Chalukya and Vijayanagar rulers of ancient times.

The local people tell a story about this place that when sage Agastya was
doingpenance the crows were troubling him. The enraged sage cursed that he
wouldnever be able to come here again. Since the crow is considered the vehicle
ofShani Dev, therefore Shani Dev does not even reside here.

Shiva-Parvati is seated here in the form of Ardhanarishwar, and this idolis
carved out of a single stone.

Another special thing aboutthis temple is that there is always water flowing
from the holy spring namedPushkaranini. No one knows fromwhere the water comes
in this Pushkaranini for 12 months of the year. Devoteesbelieve that taking a
bath in this holy water before entering the temple washesaway all sins. Glory
to Sanatan Dharma and culture

A8         Shweta Arya, from India Updated5y.

A Chinese man had brought a dog home from an animal shelter afteradoption.

The dog was caring andobedient; however, one night the owner found the dog
awake. The dog stood outside the man’s fenced bedroomdoor. He had been staring
at the man while he was asleep.

The man shrugged it off, thinking that the dog was getting used to hisnew
surroundings. Butwhen the pattern was followed night after night, the owner was
scared for thedog.

The owner used to play with the dog to make sure he was exhausted at theend of
the day and would eventually sleep at night.

But the dog would stay awakeand gaze at him every night.

The man showed him to the vet, but the dog was declared healthy.

Finally, the man went to the shelter from which the dog was adopted toseek
closure.

The shelter workers revealed that the dog’s previous owner wanted to getrid of
him as he had a pregnant wife and he found it difficult to take care ofthe two.

The owner waited for the dog to fall asleep and then left him at theshelter.

When the dog woke up, herealised that he had been abandoned. Deeply traumatised
by it, he found it difficult to trust his new ownerand feared being abandoned

Q10       What is the hardest truth of life?

A10       Divya Yadav, Feb 17

Fake people are loved more.

Reservation system is killing the development of India.

Be careful with your words. You never know how many times it keepsrepeating in
someone's mind.

…All relatives do not think of your Goodwill.

People look so different once you do not care about them anymore. You noticehow
“ordinary” they are.

How you are treated is more important than how much you like someone.

The biggest communication problem is that we do not listen to understand. We
listen to reply and react.

Always leave people better than you found them.

No one thinks good for you except your parents. I repeat, no one!

Very few friends are happy with your success. Most of your buffs leaveyou. “No
forever!”

Most of the present relationships have no future. They are made to breakup one
day.

Everyone has feelings which are hard to hide but difficult to express.

We are getting addicted to the internet day by day!

It is very manipulative that our angry side is always seen as our
“truecolours,” as if when we are happy and being kind, we are being fake.

Marriages are not always happy.
