*BG 2.48*: Be steadfast in the performance of your duty, O Arjun,
abandoning attachment to success and failure. Such equanimity is called Yoga
.

*YOGA OF A YOGI IS A YAGNA ; IN OTHER WORDS, kARMA IS THAT IS THE ACTION
ITSELF IS YAGNA OF A YOGI WHICH IS A YOGA. yOGA LEADS TO THE PERSON YOGI,
PERFORMING THE DAILY LIFE AND ACTION AS A YAGNA. kARUMAME KANNAYINAR. WORK

*इष्टान् भोगान् हि वो देवा दास्यन्ते यज्ञ-भाविताः ।*

तैर् दत्तान् अप्रदायैभ्यो यो भुङ्क्ते स्तेन एव सः ॥ १२ ॥

*iṣṭān bhogān hi vo devā dāsyante yajña-bhāvitāḥ *|
*tair dattān apradāyaibhyo yo bhuṅkte stena eva saḥ* || 12 ||

*iṣṭān*–the desired; *bhogān*–pleasures; *hi*–because; *vaḥ*–unto you;
*devāḥ*–the demigods; *dāsyante*–will award; *yajña-bhāvitāḥ*–being pleased
by the performance of sacrifices; *taiḥ*–by them; *dattān*–ingredients
given; *apradāya*–without offering; *ebhyaḥ*–unto the demigods; *yaḥ*–he
who; *bhuṅkte*–enjoys; *stenaḥ*–a thief; *eva*–certainly; *saḥ*–he.

Being pleased by your performance of sacrifice, the demigods
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/demigods#vaishnavism> will reward you
by making arrangements for your desired enjoyment. Therefore, a person who
enjoys the ingredients the demigods have given, without first offering them
to the demigods, is certainly a thief.

Commentary: Sārārtha-Varṣiṇī Ṭīkā

intention of the commentary named ‘the shower of essential meanings’)

Failure to perform *karma
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/karma#vaishnavism>* is certainly a
defect. Śrī Bhagavān
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/bhagavan#vaishnavism> is speaking
this verse beginning with *iṣṭān* to clarify this point. Grains and other
products grow due to rain, which is caused by the demigods. After producing
grains and other items, a person who enjoys them without first offering
them to the demigods by performing *pañca-mahā-yajña
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/pancamahayajna#vaishnavism>*, five
great sacrifices, is a thief.
Commentary: Sārārtha-Varṣiṇī Prakāśikā-vṛtti

<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/gosvami#vaishnavism> Mahārāja
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/maharaja#purana>; the explanation
that illuminates the commentary named *Sārārtha-varṣiṇī
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/sararthavarshini#vaishnavism>*)

In regard to these great five sacrifices, or *pañca
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/panca#history>-mahā-yajña
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/mahayajna#purana>*, it is stated in
the *Garuḍa Purāṇa
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/garudapurana#purana>*:

*adhyāpanaṃ brahma-yajñaḥ
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/brahmayajna#purana> pitṛ-yajñas
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/pitriyajna#purana> tu tarpaṇamhomo
daivo balir bhauto nṛ-yajño’tithi
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/tithi#vaishnavism>-pūjanam*

(1) To give the disciple instructions from scripture is called *brahma-yajña
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/brahmayajna#purana>*. (2) To offer
oblations to the forefathers is *pitṛ-yajña
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/pitriyajna#purana>*. (3) To perform
fire sacrifice is *deva-yajña
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/devayajna#purana>*. (4) To give in
charity offerings of fruits, flowers, grains and so on to the living
entities is *bali <https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/bali#purana>*,
or *bhūta
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/bhuta#purana>-yajña
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/yajna#vaishnavism>*. (5) To receive
guests warm-heartedly is called *nṛ-yajña*.

Many people think that the word *bali* (offering) in this verse means ‘to
offer a sacrifice by killing animals and humans’, but this is not the
opinion of scriptures such as the *Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/shrimad-bhagavatam#vaishnavism>*:

*loke vyavāyāmiṣa-madya
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/madya#purana>-sevā
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/seva#history> nityā
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/nitya#vaishnavism> hi jantor na hi
tatra codanāvyavasthitis teṣu vivāha
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/vivaha#purana>-yajña surā
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/sura#vaishnavism>-grahair āsu
nivṛttir iṣṭā <https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/ishta#purana>*

*Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam
<https://www.wisdomlib.org/definition/bhagavatam#vaishnavism>* (11.5.11)

The true meaning of *bali* is to give grains, water, fruits, flowers and
animals in charity for the satisfaction of the demigods.

and IN YAGNA OF A YOGI IN THE kARMA gNANA ,bHAKTI AND OTHER YOGAS OF WORK,
AS SAID IN 2 47 OF b g, OFFERING THE ENTORE WORK IN THAT YAGNA sUCH WORKERS
WILL TURN THE TIDE OF FAILUTE ,EVEN IF DESTINED TO FAIL. KR IRS 9623
