Juliane was born in Peru on October 10, 1954 and her parents worked inthe
Amazon jungle, so Juliane grew up in an environment quite differentfrom most
children her age.

When she was 17, at Christmas time, she and her mother boarded a planeto travel
to Germany. The plane took off in the middle of a storm and, shortly after
taking off, wasstruck by lightning.

It broke when it was 3 km high. Juliane was thrown out of theplane, but
miraculously survived. Although she was knocked unconscious by theimpact, she
only broke hercollarbone and had a swollen eye.

Experts believe that the seat and leafy vegetation cushioned the fall. When she
woke up, she screamed for help, but no one answered. The firstthing she did was
look for her mother, who was flying by her side.

After 4 days wandering throughthe forest she found the plane in pieces and many
lifeless bodies. Juliane did not find hermother among the bodies, but she did
find a bag of sweets, which sheused as food.

The young woman kept walking in search of help for daysthat seemed eternal.
During that time, she could only see through her inflamedeye, and her open
wounds filled with maggots and mosquitoes when she slept.

Ten days after the accident, she encountered some lumberjacks. When
sheexplained that she was a survivor of the accident, the men helped her and
tookher to the nearest town, which was a 7-hour boat ride away.

At the hospital, she was toldthat her mother's body had been found and that she
too had survived the fall, but had died a few days later. So she became the sole
survivor of the plane's91 passengers.

Q3         Whatare the stories of Lord Krishna that give you goose bumps?

A3         Apoorv Barange, MBBS from All India Institute Of MedicalSciences.

This story of Lord Krishna isbased on true event and always gives me goose
bumps because this story is telling us thathow much love Lord Krishna have for
his true devotees irrespective of theirreligion and caste. This story is giving
us a message that all thesedifferences are made by humans and everyone is equal
before “ The Lord of theCosmos Shri Jagannath Swami (another name of Lord
Krishna). So, Let's getstarted…..

Aurangzeb, the most cruel Mughal ruler, during his reign tried his best to
destroy our culture and religion. He orderedhis soldiers to destroy temples, to
forcefully convert Hindus into his ownreligion. Mughal soldiers used to
forcefully marry Hindu girls and widows andconvert them to Islam.

One such soldier of his army was Lalbeg, who forcefully married a Hindu widow
and named her as Fatima.

He restricted her to follow herown religion. Aftersome years of their marriage
she gave birth to a male child, they named him asSalbeg. As Lalbeg was a
soldier, his son Salbeg also became a soldier as hegrew older.

Once Lalbeg and his son Salbeg was on a war. Salbeg got severelyinjured in this
war and was about to die. His father left him and his mother, as hedidn't need
them anymore. His mother tried her best to cure her only son butthere was no
hope. Her son asked her one day “ Mother, I don't wanna die, please save me
anyhow”. His mother replied him “ I was a Bramhingirl before my marriage Son.
My father was a devotee of Lord Krishna. He taughtus that Lord Krishna helps
everyone who calls him. Pray him Son, he will cureyou”.

He thought that, I don't know itwill work or not, but I'll do it because there
is no one to cure me. He start chanting Lord Krishna’sname. Twelve days passed
in this way. Twelfth day he saw a dream in which Lordkrishna gave him some
'bhabhoot' (Devine Ash) and ask him to apply it on hisbody.

When he woke up there was that bhaboot in his hand, he applied it on
hisinjuries. He got cured. He called his mother and told her his dream andthat
how he get cured.

This incident changed his mind set and now he devoted his life in thebhakti of
Lord Krishna. He roamed in the streets of Vrindavan, composed manyverses in the
praise of Lord. His compositions like “Ahe Nila Shaila” andmany more are famous
even today. Once he was in Vrindavan and a devotee told him that he should go
to Puriwhere Lord Krishna is in his eternal form. He can get glimpses of
LordJagannath during his annual Chariot festival, when Lord himself come out
oftemple to give glimpses to those who cannot enter the temple ( even today
onlyIndian Hindus, Buddha and Jains are allowed to enter the temple. Even
IndiraGandhi was not allowed to enter this temple in 1984. This is just
becauseforeign invaders attacked 18 times this temple.)Then Salbeg visited Puri
and pour his devotion in front ofhis Lord in Rath yatra (Chariot festival). The
very next year, he was inVrindavan and someone told him that Chariot festival
is about to start in Puri.

He thought that how I'll getthere in this short duration, how I'll get the
darshan (glimpse) of my Lordthis year( distance between Vrindavan and Puri is
about 1600 km). He prayed to Lord “ O Lord! Pleasewait for me until I reach
there. I can't live without your divine darshan”.While he was in his way to
Puri, the Rath yatra started in Puri. Thousands ofdevotees, horses, elephants (
those days horses and elephants were also used topull chariots) started pulling
chariot and it started moving.

But Lord Jagannath, once again heard plea of his devotee Salbeg andhis chariot
stopped in the midway. More and more elephants and horseswere tied to pull the
chariot but it didn't moved even an inch. Pujaris werethinking that why this is
happening, why the chariot is not moving even afterapplying this much force.
They decided to pray to Lord at the same place whereit stopped. After some
time, Salbegreached there. He was thinking that Rath would have already entered
the templetill now, as I'm late. But to his amaze, Lord was still waiting for
him.

Seeing his Lord in front of him he cried andstarted singing hymes in Lord's
praise. As soon as he touched the ropes of chariot it startedmoving once again.
Everyone watching this scene was stunned.

They all hailed “Jai ShreeJagannath Swami” and entitled Salbeg as Bhakt
Shiromani Salbeg. He spent hislast days in Puri praising his Lord and after
dying he was cremated at the sameplace where Lord waited for him. Even till now
the chariot is stopped in frontof Salbeg's samadhi to pay tribute to this great
Muslim bhakt of LordJagannath.

This story is giving us a deep message thateveryone is equal. No one is
superior and no one is inferior in front of LordJagannath.
