Thanks Sri G K. As I wrote earlier, we too had no issues at all in prematurely closing the FDs after my father's demise in 2018. The very idea of having a joint account, either or survivor, is precisely to meet the contingency of one person's death, so the other one will have no problems for funds. The survivor inherits all the rights of the account. It is better he or she revisits the nomination and makes any changes that may be necessary.
