Q1         Is itnormal for the indoor unit of a window air conditioner to get
hot?

Gopala Krishnan,FormerAssistant General Manager 1996-2004 at Department of
Telecom (1966–2004)Justnow

No.Indoor unit is to blowcool air to room. If it is getting hot, immediate
attention oftechnician is required and the Air conditioner unithas to be
switched OFF, if it is a normal air conditioner forcooling only.

Q2         What is thecourse of  current following while  all electrical
equipment are  switched   off?

A2          Scottie Odom,Former ElectricalDesigner 3 (2015–2022)3y

Nowhere. It is simply there, with the potential to go somewhere. That’s what
voltage is, the potential of anelectron to get from one place to another.

Imagine a ball in your hand. The ball wants to fall to the Earth and has
potential energy. Your hand is like the switch, preventing that ball from
releasing its energy. If you let the ballgo, it’s like turning on the switch,
letting the electron go where there isless potential energy. The only
difference is that in an electric circuit, it’sa constant stream of electrons,
like a water hose, and turning the switch offis like closing the valve.

Q3         What issomething that most people don't know?

MRI machine used inhospitals for medical imaging is something many of you have
heard of, but noteveryone knows how it actually works

Imagine you're trying to take a peek inside your bodywithout cutting it open…

That's where MRI,short for Magnetic Resonance Imaging, comes in. It's like a
super cool camerathat doesn't use any radiation like X-rays do.

Before discussingthe process let’s understand MRI machine

So.. There are four main components of MRI machine..

Magnet         -Gradient Coil     -      Radio frequency coil      -
Computer System   -

    Structure ofMRI machine

Now let’sunderstand it’s working and and process… to understand this let’s
start fromthe basics…

So.. our bodies are mostly water (almost 60%)… andwater has tiny particles
called protons at the centre of each molecule…

Structure of watermolecule:

These protons love hanging out in the middle ofatoms, like a nucleus….

Now, when you place your body in a strong magnetic field, these protons align
with it, just like compass needles pointing north.

Ok.. Now a quick burst of energy is sentinto your body, which temporarily
shakes up the hydrogen atoms inside…..

When the radiofrequency pulse ends, the hydrogen atoms goback to their normal
setup….As they do this, they release signals. These signals hold info aboutwhat's
nearby…

It'slike they're sharing secrets, and those secrets help create images of
yourbody's insides.

Once the hydrogenatoms send out their signals, special coil called “Gradient
coil” in the MRI machine act like powerful ear, catching those signals..

Thesecoils help make the signals super clear and help create detailed images
ofwhat's going on inside you….

It's like having abunch of microphones that can hear every little sound the
atoms are making.

Now, the detected signals are sent to a computer, which processes and
reconstructs them into detailed images…

And that's thewhole process of how MRI works...

Q4         What arethe most mind-blowing facts about the human brain?

A4          Akbar Zaib, PhD in Neuroscience,University of Tartu (Graduated
2022)3h

Do you want to knowthe mind-blowing facts about your brain? Now, picture your
brain as your ownsilent hero, quietly and efficiently working behind the scenes
every day. It'sastounding how this 'supercomputer' in your head plays a vital
role in yourdaily life, even when you're not aware of it.

Now, let’s diveinto the eight mind-blowing facts of the human brain that you
really shouldknow.

Human insight: Your brain defines you as a human. It helps youunderstand
how you and others feel. It makes you feel about yourself and thepeople around
you and guides your interactions with the people around you.

Instant decisions: Have you ever touched something hot andpulled your hand
away before you even realized it was burning? That's yourbrain making
split-second decisions to keep you safe.

Learning machine: Every day, your brain is like a sponge, soaking up new
information. Whether you're learning a new skill, a recipe, oreven a song, it’s
your brain's ability to remember and use what you learn.

Dream factory: At night, while you're sleeping, your brain ishard at work
creating vivid dreams. It's like having your private movietheater, where your
brain produces exciting and sometimes puzzling stories.

Master of senses: Your brain processes everything you see, hear, touch,
taste, and smell. It helps you understand and react to the world aroundyou.

Memory bank: Your brain is the memory bank of your body. Itstores a vast
amount of information. It's so powerful that if your brain were acomputer, it
could store thousands of movies.

Problem solver: When you face challenges or problems, your brainsteps up to
find solutions.

Infinite potential: The amazing thing is that your brain cankeep getting
better. The more you use it, the sharper it becomes, and it canstay sharp
throughout your life.

So, here you havesome of the most mind-blowing facts about the human brain.
Let's acknowledgeand appreciate it for its remarkable capabilities.

Q5         Is a sealion an actual type of lion?

A5          Alex Cooper, Animal enthusiast20h

Ah, you’ve stumbledacross the typical trickery of animal names.

Ina word, no, sea lions are not lions. Here aresome other animals that aren’t
lions:

 Lionfish - it’s not a lion; it’s a fish

Lion’s manejellyfish - it’s not a lion’s mane; it’s a jellyfish

Golden lion tamarin - it’s not a lion; it’s a monkey,and it’s too pure for this
world. It’s not a fruit, either. (Oops, that’stamarind.)

Let’s not limit ourselves to lions — it may surprisesome people that neither
tiger beetles nor tigersharks are actual tigers, either. Leopard seals,
likewise, are notactual leopards. And don’t even get me started on spider
monkeys.

To be fair, usuallythe second part of the animal’s name is what it really is,
so the sea lion isan outlier (outlion).

What kind of animal is it, then? It’s a pinniped, whichmeans flipper-footed.
Pinnipeds include the walrus, the ‘true seals’ or earless seals, and the eared
seals. Essentially they areall just different kinds of seals, so this is going
to be a very seally answer.

Can you guess which one sea lions belong to?

Yes, if you lookclosely you’ll see a little external ear. ‘Earless’ seals have
small holes forears.

The eared seals arealso known as otariids, in the family Otariidae. (Not to be
confused withotters — I think the similar-sounding name is just a coincidence.)

The otariidsinclude fur seals, too, which are much more closely related to sea
lions thanthe ‘true seals’ (grey seal, harp seal, weddel seal, etc). In fact,
one furseal (Northern fur seal) is more closely related to sea lions than other
furseals.

Eared seals havelarge flippers with which they can walk on land, while true
seals flop aroundamusingly on their bellies.

Why the name ‘sea lion’?

Well, they’re not closely related to cats at all — they’re closer to canines
thanfelines, but not that close to dogs. It’sthought they evolved from a
terrestrial (land-based) bear-like ancestor.[1]

On the otherflipper, they are voracious hunters of fish and cephalopods,
there’ssignificant sexual dimorphism, and males of some species have
distinctive‘manes’ a little like a male lion.

While true seals are also efficient predators, they tendto look a fair bit
cuter (leopard seals excepted):

Big male sea lionsare loud, aggressive, and look like they could KILL  you up.

And indeed theycould. (Male & female Steller sea lions with human for scale.)

Maybe ‘lion’ isn’t such a bad name for them.
