Q1 What is the orientation of the Q and A? Lakshagriha (Sanskrit:
लाक्षागृहम्, romanized: Lākṣāgṛham), also called the House of Lacquer, is a
palace made of lacquer featured in the Hindu epic Mahabharata. The House of
Lacquer or House of Wax) is a chapter or parva from the Mahabharata, one of
the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India. Now tell me what is that
answer? No warrior would adopt any villainy in war; but here it is depicted
as if Karna knew the end.

*CULTURAL QA 11-2023-03A*

*All the BELOW QA are from Quora DIGEST to me on 03-11-2023.*

*QUORA ANSWERS NEED NOT BE 100% CORRECT ANSWERS.*

*Compiled and posted by R. Gopala Krishnan, 80, on 03-11-2023.*

*Q1 Did Karna involve in lakshagrah?*

*A1 Tirumalasetty Sriramsiddhartha, Lives in Visakhapatnam, Andhra
Pradesh, India3y*

*Purochana was hired by Shakuni. He plotted the death of Pandavas and their
mother.*

*Karna objected this because firstly, this is a stupid plan.*

*Pandavas are not such a fools that Shakuni expects them to be.They are
sons of Gods. They cannot be murdered like this. Its ridiculous.*

*Secondly, the one and only way to beat Pandavas is in the
battlefield.There was no other way.*

*At least Karna had some sense about the possible and the impossible.*

*Q2 Which is the main causes of kidney failure?*

*A2 Gunjan Vasave,Former M.D. in Nephrology at Grant Medical
College and Sir Jamshedjee Jeejeebhoy Group of Hospitals (2016–2019)Oct 18*

*Kidney failure, also known as end-stage renal disease (ESRD), can have
various causes, but the two main types are:*

*1. **Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)**: This is a sudden, often reversible form
of kidney failure caused by factors like dehydration, severe infection,
medication toxicity, or a sudden drop in blood flow to the kidneys. If the
underlying cause is treated, the kidneys may recover.*

*2. **Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)**: This is a long-term, progressive
condition where the kidneys gradually lose their function over time. The
leading causes of CKD include:*

*- **Diabetes**: Uncontrolled high blood sugar levels can damage the small
blood vessels in the kidneys.*

*- **Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)**: Prolonged high blood pressure
can strain and weaken the blood vessels in the kidneys.*

*- **Glomerulonephritis**: Inflammation of the kidney's filtering units can
lead to CKD.*

*- **Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)**: An inherited disorder causing cysts
to form in the kidneys, gradually reducing their function.*

*- **Autoimmune Diseases**: Conditions like lupus and other autoimmune
disorders can affect the kidneys.*

*- **Certain Medications**: Prolonged use of certain drugs or pain
relievers can lead to kidney damage.*

*Additionally, other factors such as smoking, obesity, and a family history
of kidney disease can increase the risk of kidney failure. *

*Early detection, proper management of underlying conditions, and a healthy
lifestyle can help reduce the risk of kidney failure. It's important for
individuals at risk to have regular check-ups and consult with healthcare
professionals.*

*Q3 How do pilots see at night if airplanes don't have front
lights?*

*A3 Joe Shelton, Author, Pilot (Comm. MEL/SEL/MES/SES, Inst),
Aircraft Owner Updated 2y*

*How do pilots see at night if airplanes don't have front lights?*

*Almost every aircraft has “front lights.” On general aviation aircraft
they are typically called “landing lights” — there’s a hint in that name.
Airliner’s have them also, but I’m not certain if they are also called
landing lights. Airliners typically turn them on below 10,000 feet and most
general aviation aircraft turn them on whenever they are in flight.*

*When in normal flight, other than preparing to land, those lights really
only have one purpose, so other aircraft will see them. The principle is
the same as used in automobiles — constant on lights.*

*There’s another point. A general aviation airplanes landing lights really
aren’t that much better than the high beams on a car. If you drive fast
enough you can drive faster than they can provide enough light to see
anything too far ahead. Airplanes typically fly much faster than cars
normally drive. But even more important is that when an airplane is in
flight there usually isn’t anything close enough that the lights will
actually illuminate. This is true for airliners also.*

*So how do pilots see at night? Not by the landing lights (except for
landing, taxiing, and taking off).*

*There are four things that allow pilots to fly at night.*

*Ground illumination — Cities, towns, cars on freeways, etc all provide a
diorama-like perspective that the pilots can use to both aviate (fly the
airplane) and navigate.*

*Moonlight — You might be surprised how well a full moon can illuminate the
ground. Even a partially lighted moon can provide perspective for a pilot.*

*Starlight — Once again, you might be surprised at the perspective that a
clear sky full of starts can provide a pilot flying at night. (And the view
can be spectacular!)*

*Instrumentation — An aircraft’s instruments that is certified for
instrument flight (flying in the clouds) is equally useful for night
flight. Sometimes a flight on a dark night is actually more difficult than
flying in clouds so a pilot’s proficiency in utilizing an aircraft’s
instruments can be critical for a safe flight.*

*EDIT:*

*I have three night related anecdotes.*

* In the mid-1950s returning to Arizona from Pennsylvania with my father,
we landed at a small airport in South Eastern Missouri. At night. It was a
grass strip and no runway lights. We landed with no problem using just the
aircraft’s landing lights.*

*In the early 1980s my girlfriend and I were flying at night from San Jose
CA to Portland. We landed in Medford, refueled, had dinner, and departed
VFR for Portland. I left the landing lights on and during the climb I could
see something ahead that disturbed me. So I circled and climbed to the
minimum enroute altitude. Have the landing lights on probably kept us from
flying into a mountain that was on our route of flight.*

*Commuting home from work late one night I flew the instrument approach
into my home airport. Except when I reached the Minimum Descent Altitude,
not only could I not see the runway lights, but the clouds/fog was so thick
that I couldn’t even see the normal familiar glow of the city lights off to
my right. Except for the lights within the cabin, it was as dark as
anything I have ever seen. The landing lights were even absorbed by the
dark. So I flew the missed approach and returned to my departure airport
and drove my “airport car” home.*

*Q4 What are the unknown facts about ants?*

*A4 Ian O'Grady,Studied TV and Film ProductionAug 10*

*What happens to an ant when it dies? When the ant dies in the colony, the
rest of the Ants will ignore the corpse for up to two days. This is because
they don’t realise the Ant is dead. The Ant's corpse will lie there for two
days until its corpse starts to decay leaving off a chemical called Oleic
acid, which to the other Ants signifies death*

*. Once the other Ants get a smell of death, they take the body of the dead
Ant and dump it into a pile of other Ant corpses. *

*Entomologist Edward Wilson experimented by putting drops of Oleic acid
onto a live Ant. Once the other Ants got that smell of death, they
attempted to drag the struggling Ant to the Ant graveyard even as he tried
to clean the Oleic acid of itself.*

*Q5 When a person becomes older, what is his blood pressure
generally?*

*A5 Teamedical, Experienced Medical Team Updated Oct 2*

*As people age, their blood pressure tends to increase, and it is important
for them to monitor their levels to ensure their health and safety. High
blood pressure, otherwise known as hypertension, has been linked to a
variety of serious health concerns, including heart attack and stroke.*

*Your blood pressure readings consist of two numbers, which measure the
amount of pressure your heart exerts when it pumps blood through your body.
*

*The top number is your systolic blood pressure (the “high” number). It
records the pressure in your arteries when your heart is beating.*

* The bottom number is your diastolic blood pressure (the “low” number). It
records the pressure in your arteries when your heart is between beats.*

*The average blood pressure for adults aged 20-39 years is 120/80
millimeters of mercury (mmHg). However, as we age, our blood pressure
naturally begins to rise. In adults aged 40-59 years, the average is around
130/85, and it gradually increases from there. For adults aged 60-79 years,
the average is 140/90 mmHg and above, with some people having much higher
levels than normal.*

*High blood pressure is not something that should be taken lightly. It can
be caused by a variety of lifestyle factors, such as being overweight,
smoking, having a diet high in salt, and leading a sedentary lifestyle.
Therefore, it is important to make changes to your lifestyle to lower your
blood pressure. Exercise and maintaining a healthy weight are important to
controlling high blood pressure. Eating healthy, low-sodium foods can also
help reduce blood pressure.*

*If your blood pressure is normal, regular check-ups and screenings are
recommended. If your doctor finds that your levels are still high,
medications may be prescribed to help you manage your blood pressure.*

*It is important for seniors to be aware of their blood pressure and take
steps to ensure they are healthy and safe. High blood pressure can lead to
serious health concerns, so it’s important to make lifestyle changes and
take steps to maintain good health as you age*
