Manas and atma are two little birds perched on a branch; and manas is eating the fruit and another is simply watching as many members do in the groups. So Atma is unaffected. Manas is an object of desire; Mind is the controller. Thus if mind is controlled, that is Budhi, heart stops the desire to eating the food. So better to control the mind to rectify the oath of signals.
