Thanks. Re the last para, Yes I have read about it but did not want to elaborate on it. An impression has been created that she was an angel and many, particularly our own fellows, swoon over her " services" to the poor. There were some other reports, not exactly noble, but then if published it will fall on deaf ears. People refuse to believe what they don't want to believe. Ignorance is bliss and if we speak against the " charity work" by the Missionaries we will be looked upon, by our own, as devils. Recent cases in T N where a high school girl committed suicide because she was harassed to convert was buried by the press after some initial excitement. Had it been by a Hindu school, particularly a brahmin school, then there would have been hell. They tried to defame Padma Seshadri school as there were reports of a teacher misbehaving with a girl student but the whole, full blown orchestrated shouting died the moment it was found out that the teacher was not a brahmin. Everything depends on by WHO and not on WHAT had happened. 1, 000 years of slavery and brainwashing by managing our history books and the press since 1947 has made us blind followers of all, except our own religion. We are still slaves in our thinking but are taking some baby steps to come out of it. Christians and Muslims put service as a means to convert people to their Faith and we Hindus place more emphasis on rituals forgetting that if we lose people to others where they are shown they are apparantly cared for, we will run out of people for whose benefits the rituals are conducted. Enough of idealism, let us be Practical.
