This is again a repeat of yesterday byt Mr Gopalakrishnan. If he is saying he is a friend of the pandalam royal family that is another issue. However GOD can be worshipped in any form or evcen without any form or shape. That is not the issue also. Brihadaranyaka upanishad speaks about one deity and multi deities. Bhaktas like tulsidas have a right to describe their god as they wish. But whether the descriptions of GODs are one and the same are discernible as we read the history. Adi shankara is said to be the form of shiva; but amsa projections are out of our love as we say grandson looks like grandfather. But Grandfather and Grandson are different only. That is the part of my writeup. Ganapathy and Brahmanspati are totally different; but a few interpreted Gananam rig veda verse the brahmanaspati as Ganapathy; later to 500 BCE only Ganapati worship (may be ganapatya by adi shankara) could have started when people opened up all verses with Ganapathi stotram. No epics and upanishads or tirukkural started with the ganpati verse though Mahabharatham was said to have been written by Ganapati thantham. So also Sastha, Maha sastha and ayyappan are two different sets of GODs only and there was no politics at all. But out of love ayyappan was addressed as sastha mahasastha said to have been born to siva and vishnu but ayyappan belonged to Pandalam where vishnu and shiva did not give the sastha. As a matter of fact so many Godmen call themselves as GOD and the followers do accept it. My Kuladivam sanstha @ Mahasaastha keeps down one leg while ayyappan sits with the folded legs. Sastha in BCE has Poorana and Pushkala as wives, We address any as great guru even if he is of no use in any manner and called the eminent as creating problem; that version is individualistic; they do not forma evidenced base. Kannagi is said to be Parasakthi. But do you have Kannagi at home? There we leave it Thank you K Rajaram IRS 31224

I am brought up and completed my studies at Pandalam in various institutions. I have gone on pilgrimage with my family members above 25 times to Sabarimalai starting from 1960 to 1998. Lord Ayyappa is an incarnation of Mahasastha. While Lord Ayyappa is a Brahmachari, Lord Mahasastha is a Grihastha. He has two wives. Poorna and Pushkala. He has one son also Satyaka. "The name of Lord Sastha's son is Satyaka, who is also known as Chella Pillai. In some temples, such as the Achankovil Sastha Temple, Ayyappan is depicted as a married man with two wives, Poorna and Pushkala, and a son named Satyaka"- Google search. While we have details of Poorna as a Madurai Sourashtra Lady, the following is the search result about -how Pushkala became sastha’s wife. "According to one story, Pushkala became the wife of Lord Sastha after she prayed to Lord Shiva for protection, and he sent Lord Sastha to save her. The king Palinja Varman then requested that Sastha marry his daughter Pushkala, and Sastha accepted" Google search. The Sabarimala temple was known as “Sri Dharma sastha temple" and there was such a board in the early days I had gone on pilgrimage to Sabarimala. It was removed at a later date. It is confirmed in of the interviews by royal family representative Late Sasidhara Varma. Google search tells it was removed on political reasons. While many royal family children were close and my class mates, one I cannot make out is how their language became Malalyalam totally forgetting Tamil even by elders of the family. I have seen only one royal family member spoke to we children in Tamil was one in Tamilnadu for long time. Later he joined as high school teacher in a nearby school and retired as Headmaster. He was head of the Pandalam royal family till his death. Even now Tamil Brahmins settled in Kerala talk little bit Tamil/mixed Malayalam in our homes. We still use appa, amma, athimbar, atthan, mama etc. in homes 95% talk Malayalam in central Kerala. My class mates from the royal family used to talk of them as plural. Instead of “Jnan” they used to talk “Nammal”. While working outside the state, some royal family members were very helpful to me. One such person classmate of my brother while working in railways at Salem, just met me and knowing my difficulties of Brahmin hotels, arranged meals in Tiffin carrier from railway canteen run by a Tamil Brahmin and it came in a convenient passenger train. I had to collect and tiffin carrier had to be kept back in the return train. This was while I was working as Telephone Inspector at Sankaridurg. This arrangement continued for about 4 months, till I got selected as an outsider Junior Engineer. We have never talked in Tamil. Lord Ayyappan merged with sastha at Sabarimalai after his mission was over. He only advised the fasting for people coming to see him in Sabarimalai. All other sastha temples in Kerala have permission to enter and worship women of any age in Kerala. Any royal family member or iyer123 member reading this posting can clarify my doubt –how the Pandalam royal family members talk fully in Malayalam, if they were from Madurai and talking Tamil. If anybody asks a question- why I did not clarify with my close royal family members-This doubt arose in me now only.
