Taittirlya or Black Yajur Veda Taittriya Samhita

Five Samhita’s (schools) of the Yajur Veda were known to exist. These are
the (1) Kathaka or from the Katha School (Caraka Katha Samhita), the (2)
Kapisthala Katha Samhita (only fragments exist, Kapisthala Katha Samhita)),
the (3) Maitrayani Samhita from the Maitrayaniya School (Maitrayani
Samhita), and the Taittriya Samhita (Apastamba Samhita) of the Apastamba
School (Taittriya Samhita) – these first four belong to the Taittriya or
BLACK YAJUR VED. The Black comes from Kurukshetra and Panjab. It consists
of seven books with many chapters. The Taittriya Samhita of the BLACK YAJUR
VED is now taught in the Siddhanta and other South Indian traditions where
Shiva is worshipped.

The mantra you refer to is popularly known as the Namaskara Mantra and is
found in Chapter IV (Four), Section 5, within verses 1 through 41 of the
Taitriya Samhita of the BLACK YAJUR VED. This Fourth Khanda, 5th Prasna of
the Taitriya Samhita of Sri Krishna Yajur Veda contains this famous Sri
Rudram (which some consider the Fourth Khanda, 4th Prasna only), and the
7th Prasna contains another called the Chamakam.

The first part of the text called as Rudram is in paise of lord Shiva
as in Namah
Shivaya Cha Shivataraya Cha.

This set of Mantram, including the Namaskara Mantra, demonstrate the Vedic
Siva and Rudra that is found in Tamil literature, to this day in
Tiruvannamalai, Chidambaram, your mantra of interest if found and living in
Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. It is VERY POWERFUL. It is
called the 8th (Eighth) Anuvaka. This Anuvaka is chanted for the demise of
enemies, possession or retaining one’s lands or Kingdom.

Salutations to Him who is with His consort Uma. Salutations to Him who is
red and rosy-red also. Salutations to Him who brings happiness and who is
the Lord of all creatures. Salutations to Him who is fierce and strikes
terror at sight into His enemies. Salutations to Him who kills in front and
from afar. Salutations to Him who is in the form of everyone who slays, and
who kills all at the time of Pralaya. Salutations to the stately trees with
green tufts of leaves. Salutations to Him who is the Parvana mantra; Om.
Salutations to Him who is the source of happiness here and hereafter.
Salutations to Him who is inherently of the nature of conferring happiness
directly in this world and the world hereafter. Salutations to Him the
auspicious one, who is more auspicious than all others.

Namastirthyaya cha kulyaya chanamah paryaya chavaryaya chanamah prataranaya
chottaranaya chanama ataryaya chaladyaya chanamah shashhpyaya cha phenyaya
chanamah sikatyaya cha pravahyaya cha

Salutations to Him who is ever present in holy places and on the banks of
the rivers. Salutations to Him who stands in the further shore and on this
shore. Salutations to Him who ferries men over the sins and evils of
Samsara (the Illusions of the world), and who by the grant of knowledge
ferries them over the Samsara altogether.

Salutations to Him who is born again and again in Samsara and who tastes
the fruits of Karmas in the form of Jiva. Salutations to Him who is in the
form of tender grass and foam. Salutations to Him who is in the form of the
sands and flowing water.

Then there is the Vajasaneyi Samhita of the teacher Yajnavalkya Vajasaneya
or know as the WHITE YAJUR VEDA (there are two recensions of this called
Kanva and Madhyandina School but they are almost exactly the same).
