Barnabas was very tired of Adam, his threats, his tantrums, and his
destruction. If he broke one more of his rifles he was going to meet him at
the door
with a cannon.
Let him have Vicki, the whole Collins family, and throw in Maggie and Willie
while he was at it. How in the world did Nicholas Blair control him,
Barnabas wondered. But control him he did. He knew Nicholas was no ordinary
mortal
of that there was no doubt in his mind.
Julia seemed to like Blair, and that more than a little peeved him. Blair
was the enemy for heaven's sake, what was that woman thinking? It was just
like
when she was under Tom Jenning's control, if he hadn't seen Julia's
outrageous behavior to get to the young, virile and handsome young vampire he
would
have not believed it. He cringed everytime he thought about her moaning and
groaning for Tom. Julia should have behaved a little more dignified, Barnabas
thought as a knock at the door interrupted his thoughts.
"Why, Mr. Blair, what an odd hour for you to be here?"
"Mr. Collins, it's 11:00 a.m." Nicholas responded smiling through his
perfect white teeth.
Barnabas always thought Mr. Blair something of a peacock in all its vanity,
strutting around in all it glory, showing its beautiful colors. Well,
Barnabas thought to be fair, Blair is rather beautiful for a warlock. Did I
think
that, Barnabas thought chastising himself immediatley. I've been around here
too long he almost mumbled.
"Come in, Mr. Blair." Barnabas said menacingly.
His tone was not lost on Nicholas, and he almost laughed aloud at the
thought of the look that would be on his face when he dropped the latest news
on
Mr. Collins.
"And what can I do for you?" Barnabas asked.
"I'm here to tell you that Adam and his new mate are moving in here this
afternoon."
Nicholas started laughing, and positively couldn't stop at the stunned look
on Barnabas' face.
"Oh forgive me," Nicholas managed to eek out between bouts of laughter.
Nicholas almost danced out the door, leaving a stunned Barnabas Collins
behind.
