Carolyn was alone at Collinwood when the telephone rang. When she answered
it, she heard Amy's voice. When she asked Carolyn how everyone was, she told
her they were doing well.
She didn't have the heart to tell the little girl that Barnabas was missing
because she knew how attached to him she was. When Carolyn asked her how
Sabrina was, she told her that she didn't think that she was doing very well.
When Amy told Carolyn to tell David that she called, she told her that she
would.
David asked his aunt when Amy could visit them and she told him that she
could come after they found out about Barnabas.
Roger had signs put up in Collinsport in the hope that Barnabas had gotten
to Collinsport and someone had seen him. He didn't tell the family, but he was
not very optomistic that he would ever come back.
It was dark in Amy's bedroom as she tried to sleep. Everytime she tried to
close her eyes, they would pop open. She got up and got some warm milk. When
she finished drinking it, she turned off the stove and went back to sleep. An
hour later, she was back awake. Amy could not understand what was wrong with
her; why she was unable to sleep.
Finally, she forced herself to close her eyes. In her subconscious, she saw
a cave. A man stood at the opening. As she concentrated on his face, she
recognized Barnabas.
Amy got out of bed, put on her clothes, packed a few things in a bag and
left the house for her journey back to the only place where she had felt happy
and loved when Chris wasn't around. She was going back to Collinwood.
At the Old House, Willie stood at the window peering out at the sky. He saw
the signs of the threatening storm. His thoughts immediately went to
Barnabas. He wondered if he was somewhere he would be safe. He put on his
jacket and
left. He didn't care about the storm. He just wanted to be out of the Old
House.
He walked through the woods until he came to a figure. When he went closer,
he saw it was an exhausted Amy Jennings. When she saw Willie, she smiled.
"Amy, what are you doin' out in this weather?"
"Take me to Collinwood, please."
He took her hand and the two of them walked in the direction of Collinwood.
They were within a foot of the front door when the storm broke.
