Appearance makes the person. This seems to be a general rule that
many people follow when assessing others. While this may not be
an accurate means of judging one's self and others, it is
generally agreed that appearance does contribute significantly to
a person's status and demeanor.

Nevertheless, a few problems can arise when trying to maintain
the body's shape and size.  One area for concern may be
cellulite, which are those bumpy, loose areas on the body which
distort your body shape. This special kind of fat is more common
in women than men. Whomever it attacks, cellulite needs to be
addressed before it becomes a stubborn problem.

The first thing to remember is that cellulite is not a disease
and can be eliminated by adopting a few treatments and dietary
regulations. Let's look at them in detail.

 * One of the easiest way to reduce cellulite is through
reassessing your diet and lifestyle. You should refrain from
taking too much coffee, tea, alcohol, oily foods, pre-processed
and canned foods, foods that contain additives, preservatives,
artificial colors, etc. as all these contribute heavily towards
cellulite.

 * As advised for almost all health problems, include fresh
fruits, green leafy vegetables, sprouts, nuts, fibers, onions,
etc. in every meal so that your body gets a balanced diet of all
essential minerals, vitamins, calcium, proteins.

 * Regular exercise, such as walking, swimming, jogging,
aerobics, riding bikes, etc. will help you in burning excess
calories and thereby reduce the possibility of cellulite
formation.

 * Body massage using energizers and revitalizing oils is may
also reduce cellulite.

 * Skin-kneading using therapies like Endermologie-a product
designed for suction, which compresses layers of tissues to
reduce cellulite may also prove effective.

 * Body wrapping is also gaining popularity as a simple method of
reducing cellulite.  In this method, you place warm, ground
coffee or seaweed in the cellulite-affected areas and wrap a
plastic sheet or cloth around the area so that the tissues shrink
which in turn makes the cells covered by cellulite shrink. You
might feel uncomfortable in this method as the wrapped area has a
tendency to become dry.

 * Wearing specific garments like pantyhose can reduce cellulite
in the thighs.

 * Supplements to fight cellulite may contain, green tea,
antioxidants like lycopene, juniper berries, black and white
pepper, dandelion, Ginkgo Biloba, etc.

 * Creams with proprietary blends of ingredients, especially
those containing  aminophylline have shown impressive results in
the reduction of cellulite.  Additionally, they show an increase
in the firmness of the thighs. Aminophylline works by penetrating
deep into the skin where it causes the body fat cells to shrink,
