Carrie was born in 1983 on March 10th. Carrie Marie Underwood was destined to become a country music star. Along with being a member of her local church, First Free Will Baptist, Carrie is also a member of the choir. Carrie had a very active singing 'career' in her youth. From church to talent shows, or from Lion's Club events to the choir, Carrie was practically singing all the time. Carrie attended many other shows in various states, such as Tennessee, Texas, Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas. Carrie has done openings for Gene Watson, Diamond Rio and Earl Thomas Conley. As you can clearly see, she was most definitely paving her way to stardom. When Carrie was only 13, she came close to getting a recording contract through Capital Records. Unfortunately, the management of Capital Records changed, and her contract fell through. However, she did do her first studio recording when she was just thirteen, but not yet under a record contract. Little did she know, she would earn her way to the top a lot faster through American Idol. Simon Cowell, American Idol's harshest judge, was blown away by Carrie Underwood's performances. So much so that he predicted she would be the most successful American Idol ever. And of course, Simon is never wrong. Indeed, Carrie has sold more albums than any other Idol winner. Soon after her arrival on American Idol, Carrie also gained her own little group of exclusive fans called Carrie's Care Bears. This personal fan base of Carrie's created some more media buzz and maybe helped her win American Idol in the end. She was awarded American Idol on May 25, 2005. People just love her, especially the younger generation of girls. They can look up to her all the while she maintains a modern day style. One reason Carrie is has been so well received is because of her wholesome image. Not to mention, her songs and style gives a little edge to her country music genre. Carrie's debut album, Some Hearts, hit number 1 on charts in Canada and the U.S. and Her second album, Carnival Ride has sold over 2 million copies in the U.S. and already has one number 1 hit. In 2006, Carrie's album Some Hearts got four Grammy nominations. She received two Grammy awards for "Best Female Country Vocal Performance" and "Best New Artist", while "Jesus, Take the Wheel" won "Best Country Song". Carrie Underwood's nomination was the first time an American Idol winner or contestant had been nominated in the "Best New Artist" category. January 31, 2008, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban will be heading to 24 cities on their "Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Carnival Ride" tour. Carrie and Keith are both have excellent country music singing careers and are both enjoying surging success right now. They both are 2008 Grammy Award winners. Is it no wonder that the two teamed up and going on a tour that is sure to please a huge contingency of country music fans? Keith and Carrie have both seen their songs climb the charts. Carrie's Carnival Ride sold a half a million in the first week alone. Carrie said, "I can't think of a better person to begin 2008 with than Keith". With two of the top country music stars on the same ticket, this concert is sure to be very a memorable experience --------------------------------------------------------------------- Mark Anderson writes for www.BestShowTicketsLasVegas.com where you can buy all kinds of concert tickets and cheap Carrie Underwood tickets (http://www.bestshowticketslasvegas.com/concerts/carrieunderwood/Carrie-Underwood-Tickets.asp) Also see http://www.bestshowticketslasvegas.com/venues/Staples-Center-Tickets.asp --- END ARTICLE --- Get HTML or TEXT Copy-and-Paste Versions Of This Article at: http://thePhantomWriters.com/free_content/db/a/carrie-underwood-paving.shtml#get_code .....................................
