Isn't this why they usually make people sign on for extra movies in their 
contracts?  See, this is why you need to get the contracts done right upfront. 
(that's what I do for a living ;)I can understand maybe why they couldn't get 
RDJ to sign for multiples, but even after all this posting, I can't remember 
the actors name other than something Howard.  And even with RDJ, he hadn't done 
a jack in major movie in 10 years.  He too should have been begging to sign-on 
for multiples.  Heck, there is a rumor that the Watchmen cast had to sign on 
for sequels! And they said it came down to 'financual issues'?!?!  The movie 
made over $500M!  I'm not blaming the company, I'm blaming this moron for not 
taking a major role in a guaranteed money maker.  And Don Cheedle is 
cheaper!?!?  I'm thinking he's just not a moron.  Maybe Howard was a really a 
douche on set and nobody wanted to work with him again; so, they said 
'financial issues' to try to make it look better.
