It's sort of a shame but sort of not. Like, they can't agree on what to do, and the audience can't agree on what they want to watch. Like, if you look at the comments, people are like, "They need to make it like Dark Knight!" or "They need to bring it back to basics, make him sweet!" or "Doomsday! He needs to punch something!"
And every crappy writer/director has some "awesome" idea on how to handle it. Give him a kid! Make him King of Krypton! I won't even say "how I would do it" because others on this list are more-qualified, and he's such an icon everyone feels personally about him, so even a degree-change from someone's individual image causes great debate. Also, for some goofy reason, they always want to retell the origin. We know the origin! DC just sucks at making movies. Dark Knight was cool, but I don't have nine hours to watch it again. Loooong movie! They have too many cooks in the kitchen, and their broth reeks. Fanboys and corporate guys all scribbling with their red pencils across each others screenplays. Just let it all go away. Just do Ragman and leave Supes alone.
