Bwahahaha! It's true: All the characters had flashing, cornflower blue
eyes and amazing hair (usually flaxen blond or raven black), and there
was a young, female protagonist who suffered for being so insanely
beautiful and talented. And of course, the common thread in all those
books was a deeply inappropriate relationship between siblings/cousins/
etc. Horrible! And yet, so very funny. Maybe V.C. Andrews was some
kind of mad genius who meant it as a big joke.
