Yes and no. The printing and shipping costs of physical production are no
longer in the equation, but that's actually a very small part of the budget
for most mainstream published books. The vetting process still involves a
lot of people, and the hours laying out a book for digital distribution are
the same if not more than in traditional typesetting for a printed book. Not
to mention marketing and pr departments still have to hustle for the digital
book to get noticed and bought, etc. etc. etc.

Not that I disagree that over $10 seems high from a consumer's point of view
for a digital book, just trying for some perspective.
