The Florida Institute for CPAs (FICPA), a Statewide Professional Association seeks qualified applicants for the position of Network Administrator. Position duties include responsibility for the installation, configuration, and support of the Institute's computer system including the local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN). Maintaining network hardware and software, as well as monitoring network to ensure network availability to all system users. Incumbent will perform necessary maintenance to support network availability, implement network security measures, data backups, and disaster recovery operations. Responsible for the selection, evaluation, and recommendation for software and hardware purchases.
Position requires graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors degree in management information systems, computer science, or a related field and four years of relative professional experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the required degree.
Technical knowledge and skill requirements include:
- Advanced knowledge of local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) administration
- Advanced knowledge of network operating systems, primarily Windows Server 2003/2008 and associated applications including Exchange Server 2003/2007, SQL Server 2005, SMS, IIS, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and File & Print services
- Advanced knowledge of server virtualization, primarily VMware ESX and the associated suite of products.
- Advanced knowledge of server, firewall (Cisco ASA 5510 preferred), switch, and router installation, configuration and administration
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP Network Administration
- Advanced knowledge of client operating systems, primarily Windows XP/Vista/7 including installation, configuration and troubleshooting. Experience with Mac OS preferred.
- Skilled in installation and configuration of third party security applications pertaining to anti-spyware and anti-virus
- Skilled in system backup and business continuity procedures.
- Skilled in networking/distributed computing environment concepts; can use ping, trace route, nslookup, etc.; understands basic routing concepts
- Skilled in VPN and remote access for both end user and site-to-site
- Experience with Linux\UNIX and Mac OS interoperability in a Windows environment
- MCSE or MCSA preferred
Successful candidates will possess exceptional organization, planning and implementation skills. Requires strong verbal and written communication skills. The Network Administrator may often be called upon to provide information to and collaborate with staff at various levels within the Institute.
