Serv, in 2002 I was in full Babylon 5 costume at DragonCon (John
Sheridan black uniform, with my girlfriend dressed as Delenn). But
when noon Saturday rolled around, I changed to the jeans and t-shirt
and AU cap and drove her (under loud protest) and myself two hours
west to the Loveliest Village on the Plain to watch Auburn play
Southern Cal in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

I figured, "DragonCon is every year, but Southern Cal may not come
back to Auburn in my lifetime."

A few hours later, sunburned and nursing that big 24-0 ass-whipping
they administered to my Tigers, as well as the constant bitching from
my GF, I was back at the Hyatt, wishing I'd just stayed at the con.
Hah.

The capper: We park the car and walk into the Hyatt and it's Saturday
night, so it was packed with people in costume. I'm still wearing my
Auburn gear. The first guy I come up to is in this spectacular Lord
of the Rings Elf armor deal. I say to him, "Awesome costume!" He
looks at me, looks at my cap, and says, "Go Trojans."

Yeah, that was just great.
