Ok, it's agreed that the new costume is designed to make her movie-clean, though it's really boring, and the choker is RIDICULOUS. It serves no purpose other than to hide the fact that Jim Lee draws long necks.
The real crime is the changing of her origin to be, "Everyone from my island was slaughtered, I'm the last of my race, cliche." That is such a terrible idea. Does every hero need to have a violent background? Can you not be good if you had a good upbringing? Terrible. The core of her character is that she comes from a place of peace and wants to deliver the message of peace to man's world. A severe philisophical mis-step here. Oh no, her costume is "sexy" and "outdated" Looks ridiculous on camera. Oh no! They SHOULD make the movie cheesy! Make a stooopid WWII exploitation movie. She has NEVER been taken seriously, and the attempt to "darken" her is absurd. It won't help. Make an anachronistic, goofy, crazy-color movie, and let's all have fun. Be brave enough to be silly. Wonder Woman's "fans" are non-existent. She's just "the girl hero" they whip out so girls can have something to buy too. There's no there there. Goof it up all Batman TV Series style. That show was redonkulous, and it insured Batman fans for another hundred years. That stupid show (which I love) worked because it was stupid. Stop trying to make a ridiculous thing serious. Embrace it's stupidity and fly. Superman: The walk across the US is a really good idea, though it's sort of an autoplagaristic riff on what he did with Thor. The idea of Superman reconnecting with regular people is clever and necessary. No problems there, I don't think.
