No, the cap is for 2 gig and I've never gone over 1 gig. I'm often around a
wifi source of some kind (both the university and hospital have wifi) but
even without it I don't think it would eat up all your allotted data unless
you were running it 24/7. I was under the impression that the data caps were
put in place because of video streaming.
The quality doesn't differ between 3G and wifi (unlike the iPhone's youtube
app- the video quality is noticeably worse on 3G) and I haven't had issues
with buffering either. It would likely depend on the streaming source and
the cell coverage; I get great coverage everywhere in Jax and the stations I
typically listen to (AM 1010 and 690 in Jacksonville, AM 850 in Gainesville,
and our local NPR station) have good bandwidth streams.
