Like others here, I read my first comics when I was about eight or nine (copies of The Flash and Shazam! found at little newsagent when I was on holiday at the seasside), then the odd Marvel reprint later on (I distinctly recall being taken with the Fantastic Four), but didn't get seriously - and regularly - into reading them until I was a teenager. When I started, it was still possible to pick up comics, even here in the UK, in places other than specialist comic shops.
