It's kinda funny, Shag-- I was on a panel with McDevitt at a little
con in North Carolina a few years ago, and at that point I'd never
heard of him. But I enjoyed the experience so much (we talked the
mechanics and contradictions and story possibilities of time travel
until my head nearly exploded) that I picked up a hardcover collection
of his short stories at DragonCon later that year. Good stuff, yeah.

That conversation was probably partly responsible for the structure of
A DISTANT STAR, now that I think about it...
