It's not like this isn't done frequently and I have never heard any reports
of anyone being hit by one. Other than the one fatality from the WWII
Japanese weather balloon bomb attacks on the Pacific Northwest. Not a joke;
look it up.

Hams have been strapping transponders, beacons, repeaters, live video
cameras and GPS transponders to weather balloons for decades; there's not
really anything new here other than buying the gear at Best Buy.
