I agree with pretty much everything you said.
X-Men was truly great! While I never grew tired of looking at January Jones, I certainly grew tired of her wooden acting. The rest of the cast was superb. While I think they could have made Moira and Banshee Scottish, I really enjoyed both actors. In fact, I thought the Moira actress was hotter than January Jones. Just me probably.
I was bored during Green Lantern. It just didn't seem to get started. As we've said since the first trailer, I like Ryan Reynolds, but he wasn't Hal Jordan. The personality doesn't match Hal. In regard to looks, the actor that played Hal's older brother really looked like Hal from the comics. The Green Lantern mask on Hal looked f-ing ridiculous. Completely unbelievable and silly. They should have gone for another mask. The Hector Hammond character seemed wasted to me. He was a threat on Earth for a little while, but then he was discarded the second Parallax showed up. Seemed like a waste. Sinestro was dead-on. Kilowog was dead-on. Carol Ferris was really sexy. Tom was different from the comics, but in a good way. Tim Robbins was kind of generic, but it worked. Amanda Waller shined in a couple moments, like she would in the comics, but not in every scene. Overall, it was a good movie, but not a great movie.
Most important thing to know about Green Lantern... Tom (a.k.a. Pieface) drives the same Jeep as me. Why the heck did he let Hal drive it anyway!?!??!?

**May Contain Spoilers**Saw X-Men: First Class and Green Lantern yesterday back-to-back. I have to say that X-Men was a really enjoyable film. The story was fantastic and the performances were superb. James McAvoy was absolutely brilliant and the rest of the cast, excluding January Jones, were top notch. It's true what everyone has stated about January Jones, she was terrible. In fact, despite the massive amounts of cleavage, I bored of seeing her and the character. The movie could have been an A+ if they had chosen a different actress for that role, but as of now, looking mainly at the cast and performances, I have to rate it an A; even Kevin Bacon was fun to watch.Green Lantern, on the other hand, was just okay. I tried to go into the movie, having avoided reviews and whispers, with an open mind with no expectations and came out not having any regrets. I did find, at times, the movie a little boring. I believe the story could have been tighter and definitely should have kept the Corp included in the final battle as that portion was left as unbelievable that one Green Lantern could defeat Parallax where so many before could not. Ryan Reynolds was not bad in the role and, at times, could really see him as Hal Jordan. One of my disappointments, however, was the lack of gray hair that, I think, should have appeared toward the end of the movie. Perhaps during or after the battle with Parallax. Mark Strong as Sinestro was spot on, I thought he did a brilliant job and the make-up and costume was perfect (did anyone stay during the credits to see the big reveal?). Having never been a fan of the Hal Jordan stories I am not familiar with Hector Hammond so those portions of the film I can't say too much about except that Peter Sarsgaard did a pretty good job. Most of the roles I have seen him portray in past projects have been pretty much the same performance; in this role he seemed to have pushed the limits a little more and came out looking strong.Overall, both films were enjoyable, but I can see that X-Men: First Class was the better of the two. I just wish DC would get their shit straight. Yes, we have seen hits in the past with Superman and Batman, but the first big hero to come to the big screen other those two, Green Lantern being my favorite, I just wish DC had more to give. Seriously, that is one thing I am super happy about that the first big hero of the core DC heroes (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Flash) they decided to come out with first on the big screen other than Batman and Superman was Green Lantern. Hopefully in the sequel, if there is one, that they will focus more on the Corp and include Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner and John Stewart. By the way, did you know John Stewart was in this movie? He has a credit in IMDB.After reading this, think maybe I should have posted this as a blog on The Unique Geek site?--
