I'm replying to this thread since I apparently do not have rights to
reply to the "X-Men: First Class SPOILERS" thread. Plus this one is
pretty accurate as my wife and I saw a double feature of X-Men: First
Class and Green Lantern today.

I really enjoyed FC. I thought it was going to be a gimmicky movie,
being a period piece and a prequel. But overall I really enjoyed it.
I thought the period setting and the age of the "first class" helped
give the film the same kind of feel that the early Lee/Kirby X-Men
comics had, and that is my favorite era of the X-Men. I have never
liked Emma Frost so the girl playing her being flat wasn't really a
problem to me. I liked seeing Banshee screaming around and furry
Beast worked really well (although regular Beast was pretty awesome as
well).

I definitely liked it more than X3 (and I don't hate that movie like a
lot of folks seem to) and a lot more than Wolverine. Of course the
only part I liked about Wolverine was The Blob. Speaking of which,
the cameo in this movie had me laughing my butt off.

As for Green Lantern, I only saw about 30 minutes because the baby got
fussy and I went with him to the lobby. But I only paid $1.50 so
that's alright (discount theater).
