Box office mojo listed the production cost at $200 mil. It made just over $50
mil the first weekend domestically; if it has an equal showing overseas even
with a steep drop off in the second weekend (let's say 60%) it should break
even in the theaters with a four week run. Figure in DVD sales/rentals and the
licensing fees from tv outlets (HBO and such) plus the money from digital
outlets like iTunes and it should turn a modest profit even with the metric ass
load spent on marketing. That being said, if they make a sequel I'd wager a
day's pay they won't spend on production.
If nothing else, this movie proves beyond a reasonable doubt that there will
never be a Justice League movie.
