Actually, I don't think Amazon's device will be much of a competition either. From what I have heard, yes, it is Android, and a very Amazon customized, stripped down version of Android. Apparently, from what I have heard on the TWiT podcast, is that Amazon's will only come with Amazon's apps and their App store. No Google suite of products. In other words, from the description, it will be a color version of their Kindle with the ability to run apps, but only their apps. I'm sure once it is released that there will be some developers out there to load a custom ROM on it (CyanogenMod) so that it is a true Android/Google experience. But still, with the stripped down version that Amazon is coming out with, I do not think it will be a competitor against Apple.
