I appreciate Luke laying out the collected volumes there.

I would only take issue with one thing he said, from a personal
standpoint:

I agree that the second ANNIHILATION story, Conquest, is fantastic.
One of my favorite Marvel stories ever--I own it in deluxe hardcover.
It was written (as we're the NOVA and GUARDIANS series) by Abnett and
Lanning.

The first ANNIHILATION event, on the other hand, was written by
Giffen, and... I know that many fans consider it terrific... But,
honestly, I found it and the four or five ancillary minis (such as
Silver Surfer and Ronan) to be as dull as dirt. Just awfully, woefully
dull.

The Surfer's series in particular was like watching cosmic grass grow.
