If Windows 8 flops, and it will, they'll come back fighting with their next OS release. As has been stated before on this listserv, Microsoft success and failure cycle has been evident in the past. And they have had more successes than failures. Microsoft is not going anywhere. Their footprint is too big in the enterprise and will be for decades to come. And the same with the home entertainment space with the Xbox. I predict Steve Balmer's position at Microsoft will not last and they will just get someone else in there to get the job done making Microsoft a roach that will not die.
