Most of those are hilarious, but I do have to offer a defense for the serial connection cable. While 99.44% of consumer hardware has left serial communication to the point which I refer to as "hallowed antiquity," it is still somehwhat commonplace in industrial use. PLCs, for instance, very commonly connect to laptops and handhelds via serial port. This is due to several factors, not the least of which is legacy PLCs still operating in the field from when this technology was commonplace. Wireless has started to show up, but operators are trained and used to using serial so you still see a lot of it in the field. To wit; I am working on a project with a PLC5 right now which requires the use of a serial cable. The typewriter though? All I can think of is the market of hipster writers who claim that they "write better" on a typewriter rather than a computer. :P
