So I was giving blood today. I try to give blood every 8 weeks, but it's more like a few times a year. The phlebotomist noticed I was carrying a graphic novel, so we chatted about comics. We had a great chat about the merits of Marvel and DC. Just before he stuck me with the needle, I asked him about comic conventions such as DragonCon. He said he'd only ever been to one convention. Just about the same time he stuck me with the needle, he said .... (wait for it) .... DREAMCON!
I was trapped with a needle in my arm (which stung a little too)! Suddenly my mind was racing.. perhaps this was some elaborate scheme by a disgruntled DreamCon attendee to get revenge for some perceived misdeed. Maybe this guy studied phlebotomy for the distinct purpose of trapping a DreamCon senior staffer and taking out his revenge! How was I going to escape with this giant needle sticking out of my arm!!!?!?! Then he said how much he enjoyed DreamCon. And we were cool. But it was a pretty scary couple pico-seconds. Just thought some of you would appreciate this. :) Shag -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Unique Geek" group.
