I will disagree with you on Night Stalker.  As an update of Kolchak:
The Night Stalker I really liked that show.  It also had the cojones
to actually explain what was going on, when everything else was trying
to be mysterious.

My only point was that genre shows will always have a tough road to
travel on network TV, not just one network over another.  But anyway,
getting on topic:

This SHIELD show could be interesting.  I am thinking maybe a rookie
agent teamed up with a veteran agent as they investigate different
goings on in the Marvel universe.  Maybe appearances by SHIELD
characters such as Jasper Sitwell or Maria Hill, and maybe Nick Fury
once a season, perhaps?  Sort of a police procedural set in the Marvel
Universe, perhaps?  Yeah that's a little bit like Men in Black but as
a formula that works for me.  Maybe they could be matching wits
against HYDRA or AIM or (dare I dream?) ULTIMATUM?
