Everyone is trying to copy Apple's approach of limiting the good stuff to their
own platform in the name of market share and revenue. Microsoft has allegedly
had an iOS version of Office for a while now but won't release it because they
are afraid of undercutting the still-floundering Surface. With Google it makes
much less sense; they earn far more from iOS users than the do Android, and
some Android handset makers are starting to differentiate from Google's vision
(ie Samsung). No great loss; there's a better option for everyone already out
there.
