I have to pay sales tax on my state tax return for any purchase I make on
Amazon because they have a presence in SC. We pay a 6% sales tax on all
non-grocery purchases. That is, if I am at Bi-Lo and I am buying
vegetables, meat, and chips, they are not taxed, but the paper towels,
detergent, and rotisserie chicken are taxed (the last one since it is
"prepared food").
