Bold statement: "...Linux Mint 15, Olivia, is now not merely the best Linux desktop, it's the best desktop operating system of all."
http://www.zdnet.com/mint-15-todays-best-linux-desktop-review-7000015691/ I'm looking forward to LM 15. I've been using Linux Mint as my primary OS on both my desktop and laptop for about 2 years now (still have LM 12 installed on my desktop; LM 14 on my laptop) and have no regrets. Unfortunately, I still have to use Windows for my PC gaming (dual boot) but that is slowly changing with the introduction of Steam for Linux. Linux Mint is coming very close to being a good alternate OS for beginners of PC computing. It's come to the point that if my wife's laptop were to die tomorrow and we needed to get her a new machine I would have no issue with loading LM 15, giving her some basic training and letting her run with it. Of course, since she is so used to Windows 7 she would probably have some push back because she hates change (took me three years to get her to move from her Motorola Razr to an iPhone) but I'm still pretty sure that being very much a "user" she would still be able to use Linux Mint with no issues. In other words, for any beginner that can't afford Windows or OS X, I would definitely recommend Linux Mint. ---------------------------------------- Have a Better One, Edward Crosby http://about.me/edwardcrosby -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Unique Geek" group.
