You know, I was comparing this to another Del Toro film, Hellboy. Hellboy did not do well at the box office, but had great reviews and word of mouth. And while it was an adaption, at the time Hellboy was not well known outside of the comic book community, so it was similarly obscure. Del Toro did eventually make Hellboy 2, and I think that, though it may take a while, we will get a Pacific Rim 2. The idea of the Kaiju making another rift seems an obvious choice, as well as the merging of a Jaeger and a Kaiju (a cyborg monster ala Gigan springs readily to mind). Take as long as you want Del Toro, because Ihave faith that you will deliver.
