I found this to be uttery fascinating.  By the time I became aware of 
roleplaying in the 80s (although I did not do any actual roleplaying until 
the tail end of 2nd Edition in 1999), D&D was already a "thing," so to hear 
about it's origins in such a way are very cool, almost like a forensic 
history sort of thing.  Great find, Cary!
