MLB, NBA, and NHL have apps on the Apple TV (and I'm assuming through other portals too) so the NFL and college sports are the only holdouts- unfortunately those are the only ones I care about. ESPN offers plenty of streaming, but for 90% of it you have to be a TV subscriber which defeats the whole purpose. The ACC in college football have an app but I don't know how much of their content will be available; I'm hoping that the SEC will follow suit this year with the release of their network. Sports is the last bastion of paid TV. It's all that system has left that's not readily available via streaming. While I can get all the football teams I follow via antenna (and thankfully I get a great digital signal) I'd still like to be able to catch other games too. The illegitimate sources like JustinTV just havent been worthwhile; the streams are super low quality and often die as providers track them down, but it (and the crash of the HBO Go servers during GoT) shows how high the demand for legit streaming media is. I'd gladly pay, but I want to pay a la carte for media- I'm not interested in going back to paying for 300+ channels only to watch 3 of them (and lose the ability to watch anything on demand without paying extra for a DVR).
