guys and Pat,
 I know why.. When I moved the application directory, the "vendor"
directory was not copied over.

I copied the whole "vendor" directory from the application directory
in the working server to the new server, reinstalled sphinx & thinking
sphinx and then rebuilt the model.

Works like a dream :)
