Chances are, you'll have to kill Mandriva to be able to fix XP. You need not a
set of restore disks, but a retail XP disk to fix the MBR.

Good luck.

Cheers,

George

Subject: [Thinkpad] Where to start?? XP problem on a dual boot T43

Computer T43 2687-D4U, 15" Flexview XP SP 3 with all updates, Mandriva 2009

OK, About two weeks ago, faced with ongoing and unsolvable wireless problems
in Windows, I reinstalled Windows. Over the course of a week, I got all my
essentials back and life was good. Then, suddenly two days ago, things froze
while in Windows. I was trying to access a music file at the time in Media
Player. When I re-booted, things froze at the XP splash screen.

When I put in the rescue disk I can look in events log and get two different
errors, one which corresponds to the time of the freeze:

RRU Co create Instance error -2147024894
