Your R&R set is useless for the purpose you need... Mandriva needs to be eliminated from the hard drive, and MBR restored...you need ANY XP retail disk to get this done...even if it's useless for any other purpose, e.g. can't be registered...
Step one would be booting it (using F12 function) and then eliminating the partition associated with Linux. Step two would be fixing MBR using the repair console. Step three (if and when) would be re-installing Mandriva in a slightly different manner, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it... XP problem on a dual boot T43 Curiouser and curiouser... As I mentioned, a recently re-installed/reformatted drive, never had IE 5 or Office 97 on board, not knowingly with Yahoo messenger either (I saw those references in my search and figure , note me! Anyway, right now the problem is that I cannot get into XP, apparently I need an XP disc to do this which IBM did not provide. Are my Rescue and Repair CDs useless for this?? stuartf On Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 3:00 PM, RayBay <[email protected]> wrote: > Somehow related to Yahoo Messenger in most cases... also occurs on > computers with Word 97 or Office 97, or with Internet Explorer 5 installed > at some time in the past.
