Hi,
I have a T60 with Windows XP rebooting continuosly. In Recovery startup mode it BSODs with UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME 0x8632e590 0xC0000006 0x0 0x0 which seems to point to a broken file system problem. I tried resetting the bios and turning off UDMA (MS article 297185 points to UDMA problems or damaged file system). I tried to boot with a XP installation CD in order to get into recovery console and run chkdsk /r, but that CD doesn't find the hard disk (no sata drivers, I suppose). I tried removing the hard disk and placing it into an external USB case for Sata disks, however on another T61 it is not recognized: in device manager I can see the enclosure under "Hard Disks", but in Disk manager the hard disk doesn't show up (other hard disk in the same enclosure work fine). The hard disk is a ASM 42T1414, FRU 42T1409, Hitachi HTS541680J9SA00 Sata 80GB. The hard disk, the partition, and the file system are not completely gone, since XP tries to start. Any suggestion how to build a XP cd with the SATA drivers OR how to access the hd from another computer?
