Switching screens is not difficult, but can take a lot of time.  There are a
lot of rubberized screw covers to replace.   Depending upon the Thinkpad,
there are 18 to 24 screws to remove and replace... But everything you need
to do is obvious... and the Thinkpad User Guide schematics will be helpful
from a Lenovo download.  You might want to buy a new inverter while you are
doing it... they run $18 to $70 depending on where you find them.  Do not
get used ones.

Be very careful in removing the screw covers, or have replacements handy.
You can end up with an ugly computer that will reduce its resale value.
Practice on the bad computer until you have become comfortable.  The screw
covers are hard to find, but they are the best choice when performing the
reassembly.
